Chapter 10 - New Life

You tried teaching Chariot everything you knew about Speartons. You tried making him say a few words, but it wasn't always a success.

He managed to say simple words like yes, no, maybe, hi, and bye. But he couldn't say Alchemy's name yet.

You also tried teaching him how to stand upright. You thought he would remember how, but he didn't. Chariot fell on first try.

Finally, you tried teaching him how to use a spear. You didn't have a spear at the moment, so you used Alchemy's staff. He didn't like the idea though.

Chariot kept throwing the staff randomly. He held it in his mouth and threw it against the wall. Alchemy was already mad because his staff had drool on it and it nearly broke when Chariot threw it.

But Chariot didn't seem to care. He was happy because he wanted to learn how to be a Spearton again.

You also enjoyed teaching Chariot. It was always fun, especially when Alchemy got mad at you for using his staff.

When 'night' came, you all sat near each other to sleep. You slept on Alchemy's lap while Chariot sat beside you. It was a peaceful night.

When you woke up, you saw Chariot already awake. Alchemy, being the sleep head, was still asleep.

You played with Chariot for a while until Alchemy woke up. Chariot nudged him to play but Alchemy refused.

After a while, you heard someone approaching you. You all look to see Marrowkai and a Juggerknight standing there.

"(YN), you're free." Marrowkai said. "What?" You asked. Free? Even Alchemy and Chariot looked shocked. Marrowkai sighed. "Alright let me explain.

"So the research results have been found. You are part Medusa, which explains the mana. Not only that, you have the same blood of Queen Medusa, making you related.

"Medusa and I decided that we won't use you for a weapon. Instead, she will train you to use your powers. You will be allowed to live in the castle, but not allowed to leave without permission.

"So thats why Im here." He explained. You were shocked. You were free. Technically, you were free! You felt so happy that you wanted to scream.

You were about to follow Marrowkai, but you stopped. You looked at Alchemy and Chariot.

Alcheny tried to smile but he still looked sad. Chariot was whimpering and giving you a sad look too.

You felt guilty. You look back at Marrowkai. "Ill go on one condition." You said. He sighed. "What?" Marrowkai asked.

"They should be free too." You pointed at Alchemy and Chariot. They looked at you with surprise. But Marrowkai shook his head.

"No. These fools are staying here." He told you. "Now lets go!" "No!" You stomped your foot. "If they can't come, Im staying here." You said.

"You would rather be with them than go free?" The Juggerknight asked. You nodded. Marrowkai muttered something to himself.

After he did, he faced you. "Fine. They can come." He replied. Alchemy and Chariot beamed with joy. They all hugged you.

"But you are responsible for the Spearton." Marrowkai added. "Okie!" You replied as Alchemy and Chariot let go of you.

You followed Marrowkai as he led you out of prison. Once you did, he led you to the throne room. As expected, Medusa was there.

She saw you and smiled a bit. But when she saw Alchemy and Chariot, she immediately questioned Marrowkai.

"Marrowkai! I only asked for (YN), not these fools. Why are they here?" Medusa asked. Marrowkai sighed.

"(YN) said she won't go unless these people come along." He replied. Medusa glared at your 2 friends. "Fine, I guess they can stay." She said.

You smiled. Medusa looked at you. "Anyways, I hope Marrowkai explained to you why you're here." She told you. You nodded.

"Good. I have given you your own room, so be thankful." She said. "As for them," She looked at Alchemy and Chariot. "I think I can arrange one."

"Thank you!" You smiled at her. Medusa stood up and led you to your room. Alchemy and Chariot excitedly followed you.

"This is where you will be staying." Medusa said as she opened a door to a room. "Whoa!" You exclaimed as you wondered at the room.

It was big. There was a bed, a table, drawers, and a window. You could see the outside from there. You smiled as you it was hard to believe that you were sleeping in a room like this.

Alchemy and Chariot were given a similar room. They also enjoyed it and looked out the window. You did the same.

For once, you could see a proper view of the Chaos Empire. Outside, there was a statue that looked like a cobra. You thought it was probably Medusa's statue.

You also saw Giants. You never saw one in real life. All you saw were the Enslaved Giants of Order. Now, you could see a real one.

You saw a Dead standing on one of the balconies. It reminded you of the Castle Archidons that defended the castles in Order. In Chaos, it must be the Deads that do that job.

You also spotted Eclipsors training. They shot their arrows and flew in the air to practice accuracy and speed.

You could see some Juggerknights training too. You saw them use clubs instead of axes when they trained.

You saw a couple of Crawlers and some people holding dynamite. You saw as they detonated while the Crawlers played with some of them.

Finally, you saw miners. They looked like the Order miners, except that they looked gloomy and tired. There was a Marrowkai down there too, keeping an eye on them.

You looked back at Medusa. "What?" She asked. Without thinking, you ran to her and hugged her. "Thank you so much!" You said.

Medusa didn't know what to do. "Yea, whatever." She replied as she pushed you off. "But remember, you're not allowed to leave!" She added.

"Why would we ever want to leave now?" Alchemy cried as he flopped on the bed. Medusa rolled her eyes.

"Tomorrow, we will start your training. You can use this day to look around. The only places that are off-limits is the prison, the Crawler's cell, and my room. Got that?" She asked.

You nodded. But you remembered something. "Medusa, we're related right?" You asked. "Yes, why?" Medusa replied.

"Are you my mom now?" You asked. Medusa froze. You could here a Juggerknight laughing hard outside. "Shut up!" Medusa commanded him.

She turned to you. "I guess." She answered as she left you with Alchemy and Chariot.

Chariot kept running around in joy. Alchemy was looking at eveything. You sat on the bed and looked out the window.

"This is my life now." You thought.
