My eyes fluttered open as bright lights made them close again.

When my eyes adjusted, my breath caught as I flew up. My stomach piked up in pain as I cried out, falling back onto the bed. I tore out the wires that were  puncturing my skin. The machines started to blare as I began to cry again.

A doctor and nurse rushed in. "Y/n, calm down!" They yelled as I cried, I felt like I couldn't breathe.

"W-what happened?"

"You were shot and rushed to the hospital," one nurse said as they calmed me down, so I could breath.

"Slow breaths, that bullet almost punchured one of your lungs as it moved, but it didn't just scatched, but still, nice and slow breaths," the doctor said.

"Is... Is he dead?" I asked, my voice cracking as I looked over at them.

"Yes... Mr. Ward is dead."

I felt like I couldn't breathe, I felt at ease, after so long. The person I hated, the person that took away so many amazing things and did so many bad things is gone... Tears flowed down my face as I looked out the window.

"Get some rest, then you can see your family."

"Thank you," I said softly, "how long was a out?"

"Two weeks, you needed your rest, so you were put in a medically induced coma..."

I didn't answer, I just nodded and relaxed, trying to wrap my mind around the events that happened, what seemed like minutes ago.

After hours of sleep and a shower, help from my nurse, I felt more alive...

"Are you excited to see him?" My nurse asked, "when you were asleep in our medically induced coma, he stayed by your side the whole time, holding your hand."

"That sounds like Bucky," I smiled.

"I'll go get him," she smiled.

I sat there, waiting, I was so excited.

When the door opened Granddad ran in with a toddler, they both hugged me. Winnie in my lap, "you came back, Mommy!" She grinned, her little arms around me, "I love you."

"I love you too, honey. Remember, I said I'd always come back to you," I smiled as a few happy tears fell. "I love you too, Granddad."

"I love you too, and I'm so proud of how brace you are. Yet, mad at how stupid you are at the same time," he laughed and cried.

"I get that from mom and she got that from you," I giggled and hugged them... After what felt like a lifetime, I opened my eyes and saw Bucky standing in the doorway, tears falling down his face.

Granddad took Winnie from me and stepped back, as Bucky wobbled in

Granddad took Winnie from me and stepped back, as Bucky wobbled in. Our friends coming in too.

Bucky then ran and wrapped his arms around me softly not to hurt me. I cried as Bucky cried, holding me as close as he could. "You're okay..." Bucky said, almost not believing it.

"I was so scared..." I cried as I leaned back to look at his face.

"I know... But, you're safe and sound now." He smiled sadly as he brushed some of my hair back. "Just close your eyes; the sun is going down... You'll be alright; no one can hurt you now... Come morning light, you and I'll be safe and sound," Bucky whispered into my ear as I hugged him.

I grabbed Bucky's face and kissed him with every emotion, I could muster. Bucky kissed me back, right away, putting everything into the kiss.

When we finally broke for lack of air, we smiled as tears fell. "I love you, so much."

"Y/n, I love you..." Bucky breathed out, arms around me as he continued. "I wanted to ask you this a long time ago, but things kept interfering, and I never got to ask you..." Bucky opened a navy velvet small box, revealing my grandmother's ruby wedding ring. I gasped and looked back up at him. "I've loved you since you kicked my ass. It was the most romantic thing, I could ever wish for. I knew you were my person, my love, my everything... I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want you to officially be Winnies Mom and my wife. I want to have more kids with you and for Winnie to be a big sister. I want to grow old with you. I want everything with you by my side and me by yours... I love you, Y/n... Will you marry me?" Bucky asked, tears sliding down his cheeks.

I felt my voice disappear as Bucky said this. I am finally free, and I get my dream. "Yes..." I nodded then kissed him again.

There was cheering behind us that pulled us apart. I saw all my friends and family; they were all so happy for us.

Winnie ran to us as I picked her up, placing her in my lap, between us. Bucky put the ring on my finger as Winnie smiled. "I love you, mommy and daddy," she giggled as Bucky wrapped his arms around us. Kissing my forehead.

I am home.
