England's POV:

I sigh as I take in the scene around me. My father is talking to Dale about something with T-dog. Glenn is in the front seat of the truck they'll be leaving and Daryl is pacing in the back of the truck. I walked up to the truck getting in the back. Daryl looked at me confused, but I just walked past him sitting in the passenger side next to Glenn. He looks at me, noticing my sad expression. He pulls me in for a hug without a word.

"Please, Please be careful out there," I say as we pull apart. He chuckles. "I mean it. Don't get stuck in a store again. Or anywhere else for that matter. Okay?" He nods.

"Okay, I promise." I smile and give him a kiss on the cheek. I start walking away to the back of the truck to where Daryl is. "I love you." I smile and turn around to Glenn.

"I love you too." He smiles back. I turn around to look at Daryl and find him already staring at me. We stare at each other for a couple of seconds before I take a step forward towards him so that we are only an inch apart. He looks down at me.

I take him by surprise, wrapping my arms around his neck and pulling him down to hug me. He stiffens under my touch. I go to pull away just for him to pull me closer and tighter. I sigh and bury my head into his neck. "Please be careful out there. Take care of each other." I say as we pull away looking at each other. "And bring your brother back. I want to give him an earful for being an arse to my friends." I say to lighten the mood. Making Daryl chuckle a little and nodding. I smile and take that as my cue to leave.

As I get off the truck I hear Daryl beep the horn of the truck causing me to flinch at the sudden sound.

"COME ON, LET'S GO!" He yells. Dad makes his way over to me, he opens his mouth to say something but gets interrupted by Shane.

"Hey, Rick. Got any rounds in the python?" He asks, setting down a bag next to me, looking through it. Dad shakes his head.

"No."

"Last time we were at the gun range. I'm sure I wound up with a few loose rounds of yours."

"You and that bag- like the bottom of an old lady's purse." Dad jokes making me laugh.

"I hate that you're doing this, man. I think that it's foolish and reckless. But if you're gonna go, you're taking bullets." Shane says.

"I'm not sure, I'd want to fire a shot in the city. Not after what happened last time." I nod.

"Yeah, it would be pretty stupid to do that. It'll be drawing more attention." I speak up looking between the two men. Shane sighs.

"Yeah, well that's up to you." He holds out four bullets. "Well, four men. Four rounds. What are the odds? Huh? Well, let's just hope that four is your lucky number, okay?" He hands over the bullets.

"Thank you."

"Alright." Shane walks away. Dad looks at me.

"If you -um- run into any problems and are forced to drop the bag again. Just make sure you get my gun out of there first." I say making dad laugh.

"I will." He hugs me and kisses my forehead. See you later, English." I sigh.

"See you later, dad."

~ * ~ *

It's been a few hours since the guys left. Currently, I am washing clothes with a few other women here, at the quarry. Carl and Shane are up ahead trying to catch frogs.

"Can somebody explain to me how the women wound up doing all the Hattie McDaniel work?" I nod my head in agreement.

"The world ended. Didn't you get the memo?" Amy says, making me playfully glare at her. She laughs and nudges my arm.

"It's just the way it is," Carol says handing Jacqui a wet shirt.

"Yeah, which I find highly sexist, but no one seems to care," I say making everyone chuckle.

"I do miss my Maytag," Carol speaks up after a few minutes of silence.

"I miss my Benz. My Sat Nav." Andrea says.

"I miss my coffee maker with that dual-drip filter and built-in grinder, honey," Jacqui says. Then Amy speaks up.

"My computer, and texting." Of course, she'd say that. I chuckle. "What about you E?"

"I miss getting drunk almost every weekend with Glenn and having mum yelling at me because I looked like crap," I said, making us all laugh.

"I miss my vibrator." Andrea caused us to laugh even more. Carol looks behind her before saying...

"Me too." Making us laugh even louder.

"Damn," I say as I laugh.

"What's so funny?" I hear ED coming up from behind us. Causing Carol to go all serious again.

"Just swapping war stories, Ed. Yeah." Andrea says, turning to him. I look behind me to see ED Looking over us. I roll my eyes and decide to speak up.

"Problem, ED?" I ask.

"Nothing that concerns you, beautiful." He says winking at me. I scrunch up my nose in disgust. Is he seriously flirting with me in front of his wife? I scoff looking away from him. "And you." He turns to Carol. "You ought to focus on your work. Don't need ya to be distracted." I scoff again. Carol just stays quiet continuing doing her work.

After a few minutes of Ed just standing there and us being all quiet because of him, I stood up.

"Ed, tell you what? You don't how we do your laundry, you are more than welcome to do it yourself. Here." I say throw him, his shirt. He grabs and throws it back, hitting me in the face. I hear the girls gasp behind me. It makes me angrier.

"Ain't my job, beautiful." He puts the cigarette back in his mouth. I take a step forward glaring at him.

"England, don't!" I hear Amy say, but I ignore her.

"What is your job, ED? Sitting on your arse smoking cigarettes all day?" I say getting irritated by the second. He takes a step forward too.

"Sure as hell, ain't gonna listen to some smart mouth British b***h. Tell you what, you could use the mouth for something else though." He smiles a creepy smile looking at me and down. "Now, come on. Let's go!" He says to Carol, who gets up and starts walking towards him. I step in front of her, stopping from moving.

"I don't think she needs to go anywhere with you." I spat glaring at him.

"I say it's none of your business. So move. Come on now you heard me." I turn around so I'm facing her.

"Carol, you don't have to go anywhere with him," I told her.

"No, please just drop it." She whispers trying to push past me.

"Hey" Ed turns me around. "Don't think I won't knock you on your a**. Just cause you some uptight British cooze, alright?" He says right in front of my face. That's when I snap. I grab him by his collar, punching him square in the jaw. I hear the girls screaming. Feeling one of my knuckles cracked, I shake my hand to make the feeling go away.

He recovers quickly tackling me to the ground getting on top of me. I hear people screaming telling him to get off of me. He punches me twice on the right side of my face. Before he gets pulled off of me. One punch on the upper side where my eye is and the other on the side of my cheek. I see Amy coming down towards me saying something, but I can't hear due to the ringing in my ears. The last thing I see is my mother rushing to me before everything goes black.
