I see Shorty skip into the gym and seems to just be hooked to Too Tall's hip. Moose walks in shortly after her and sees that she's already right beside Too Tall. He takes seat on the bleachers and puts his head in his hands. I take a seat beside him and rub my hand on his back. "You okay?"
"Hmm? Oh...yeah." He says looking at me obviously upset.
"You like her." I say pointing out the obvious.
"Yeah, but I'm nothing to her and yet Too Tall means everything to her it seems. I've done all I can to try to tell her how I feel without actually telling her. I just don't want to ruin anything that we already have by pushing her too far."
"Yeah. Just give it some time. Did you talk to Too Tall about it? I'm sure if he understood what was going on he would make sure that he doesn't lead her on." I say frowning. I watch as glances over at them and sees that Too Tall is acting as normal as he can around Shorty. While Shorty is desperatley flirting.
"Yeah, I talked to him and he's a good friend I'm sure he's taking care of it. I just don't know what to do ya know?" He looked so hurt. HE stands up and grabs a basketball and works on his 4 point shots. Obviously still doing everything he can to impress her. I decide to women up and talk to Shorty for him.
The 10 minutes was already up and I decided I'd talk to her about it in the locker room.
After Practice
"Hey Shorty can I talk to you?" I say as I walk up and wrap an arm around her shoulder.
"Umm sure."
"So how do you feel about Too Tall?" I decide to ask her that first so that way she wouldn't auto matically jump to the conclusion that Moose had a thing for her.
"Well I really like him but I'm not sure if it's just because he's been my role model for like ever and he seems to just seem awkward around me. I mean at first he was so clear that he liked me then like the next day it was like everything went stiff. I just don't know anymore."
"Yeah, I understand. I hope everything turns out okay between you too, and don't give up Shorty there is always a chance. If Too Tall doesn't turn out to be the one there is always other fish in the sea. I promise it wouldn't be the end of the world. "
"Thanks Sweet J." and thats all she said before walking out of the locker room.
