Aven's POV

I woke up to hear yelling, I saw Alice was out of bed and I groaned slightly, So tired, i thought. I got up and out of the bed.

I went by them and heard Rose yell, "Why would you switch my knife! I almost had him!"

When I got there I asked, "You almost had who?" I have hope that she wouldn't say one specific name. Rose replied with "Um, I almost had. . .um, you see. . .the funny thing is...." She was stumbling over her own words. "Stop stalling and tell me." I cross my arms.

Rose played with her fingers while looking down slightly, "Zach." She mumbled. I groan and was about to yell at Rose when Alice butted in.

"Who's Zach?" She asks. I look at Rose. "The guy I was trying to kill but, you switched my knife!" Rose yelled. I glared at Rose, "What the hell did I tell you! Don't go after him by yourself!"

Rose scoffed and said, "I can do things by myself, you're not my mother." I look at Rose, scowling. I said, "Why did you do th-" Rose slapped me across the face. I got silent and looked at her in shock and put my hand where she slapped me.

"He wants to kill you." Rose said coldly. "I would've had him too if little miss knife switcher didn't switch my knife from silver to Iron."

I was silent for a minuet or two, until I finally spoke up. "I could've helped." That apprerently made her snap because she slapped my again, "You were his main target! He would've killed you! He's almost killed you before!" I look down and feel where she slapped my again.

I look up at her, then at Alice, she seemed frozen with fear, she's just looking down not doing anything. "Let's go outside." I said and pulled Rose by her shirt and pushed her outside, slamming the door shut.

I look at Rose, "Why did you bring me out here?" She asks. I look at the camper and sigh. "She's terrified of us, I don't want us to argue in front of her."

Rose scoffs and we both hear sirens. "We should go soon." She says, ignoring the topic we were on. I nod and walk inside.

"Hey, Alice? Can you do something for me?" I asked, feeling bad. "Yeah, anything." She told me. "Can you gather everything that you need." She gave me a confused look. "Just do it." I told her.

She nodded and gathered everything, me and Rose did too. Once we finished, we left, we heard the sirens coming closer. I stare at the blue and red lights coming from the trees. "Run." I tell them, we did.

Once we didn't hear the sirens, we stopped. We all sat down n the hard ground, breathing heavily.
"Okay." Alice breathed. "What's going. . . .on. . .here?" She asked between breaths.

Me or Rose didn't answer as we were catching our breaths. Once we did, we all stood up and Rose answered with, "We lied to you, well somewhat." Alice looked confused. I rolled my eyes.

"Were, fugitives. We did some things we're not proud of, and rather not speak of it, but we went to prison, hence me not seeing you for two years." I said. Alice looked at me shocked. "What you guys being. . . demons." She asked hesitantly. I looked at Rose.

"Well dear, we've always been this way." She says. Alice looked at me and tears welled up in her eyes. "So you lied to me!" She snapped. I stayed silent."You lied to me and brought me into this whole thing I didn't want to be in! You never told me you were a demon! Or you were in prison?" She screamed.

"What about everything else? Was everything a lie as well? Is our friendship a lie!" I flinched at that. "Alice," I started. "No!" She screamed. "I don't want to hear another lie!" I look down, sighing. She went up to me, and slapped me across the face, hard. I look up at her shocked, then angry.

She could tell I snapped because she got quiet immediately. I pinned her to the ground. "Will you just shut up and let me talk!" She didn't answer. "Yes I lied to you! That's because I didn't want you to be scared of me! I didn't want anyone to know! I killed people Alice! I don't want you to be scared of me damn it!

"You're my best friend, that isn't a lie, and if you think it is?" I push off the ground and stand up. "You can just leave, heck, turn us in! I'm sure for all the lies I've said you want something out of it, might as well be money." I cross my arms and turn away.

She looked at me and pulled me so I'm facing her. "I don't want our friendship to be a lie, all I want is the truth, and I'm not going to be turning you in. I'm coming with you." I look at her.

"You really shouldn't." I told her. She laughed historically. "I'm already in it, can't go back nor can I?" I looked down, then back up smiling. "Let's go." I start walking away from them.

After I'm a few feet away they decided to follow me.
