Megan's POV
"Dad, I'm off to work." I ran over and hugged him goodbye, he was sitting at the kitchen table reading the newspaper.
"Okay, don't forget about tonight!" He said.
"How could I forget?" I sighed then left for work. I walked down the road and arrived at the cafe that I work at, now I don't go to school I needed a job to occupy myself with and this was the best option for me, it's not too far from where I live and it's good money for someone my age.
"Hey, Megan." My friend and co-worker Freddie said to me as I walked inside, he was clearing up all the dirty tables.
"Hey, today doesn't seem very busy." I looked around and saw hardly any customers around.
"Yeah, but it's only early." He replied. I nodded then went out back to get my apron. I put my bag down then walked back out to stand behind the counter, waiting to serve customers.
A few customers later, which wasn't very many because it was a slow day and it was my lunch break, I was so happy because work was so boring.
"Hey, Meg." Finn smiled as he saw me walk towards him.
"Hey," I said and kissed him with a quick peck.
"How you feeling?" He asked as we both sat down on the bench at the park, this is our usual routine, we always come here on my lunch break and just talk about our day.
"I'm okay," I shrugged, not having much to say about the situation. He just looked at me and gave me a sad smile. "How are Jake and Matt by the way?" I tried to change conversation.
"They're great, Jake wants to get the band back together." I smiled at that, we haven't been a band since high school.
"Wow, it's been a while!" I laughed.
"I know but I think it's a good idea," he said and I agreed, our band was great and it's a shame we stopped it.
"I think so too, I've only got this crappy little cafe job." I said. "We could make this band something if we really tried, I know we could do it."
"You really do believe in us," he smiled. I was always the one with the most belief in our band when we were in high school.
"I think we're good, remember our first band performance at school?"
"Yes! We played Dammit by Blink and everyone loved us!" He smiled widely and so did I when remembering the day, it was such a great day.
"I think we should do it!" I said excitedly.
"I'll talk to the guys and we can arrange something," he said. I then looked at the time and notice it was nearly the end of my break.
"I have to go now, but I'll call you tomorrow." I kissed him goodbye and then left. If you hadn't already guessed, me and Finn are still together and he's been amazing through these past two years with me, he's been my rock through everything.
I arrived back to work and it was still dead, no one was around.
"Meg, go home, we all know what this day is for you today so go home and spend time with your family." Denise, my boss said to me, her and Freddie were the only ones about.
"No, it's fine, I'll stay till my shift ends."
"I'm not asking you, I'm tell you, so go home or your fired." She joked at the end but I really appreciated it.
"Thankyou," I smiled then got my stuff together. "If either of you need me then please call."
"Neither of us will call you Megan, now go," Freddie nudged me out of the door with a smile so I left.
