"Be safe."
I watch as Allisa leaves the temple. I look over at the ghost of my father once again. He watches me carefully.
"What are you doing, sweetheart?"
I give him a smile. "I'm going after Violet. Momma wouldn't want for her to be left here. She can't lose anyone else. But I can't risk my friends' lives either. This is something I must do alone."
My father frowns for a moment. "You should also worry about yourself. What if you get hurt?"
"I'll be okay. I can handle it."
He sighs. "Alright..." He reaches out for my hands. I take them in mine. My father grins a little again. "Please don't forget how proud I am of you. You're incredibly resilient. You'll figure this out, I know you will. But please don't lose yourself in the process. Alright?"
I nod. "I promise."
He leans forward and kisses my forehead. I smile to myself as he slowly steps away. He begins to fade.
"I'll always be with you," He says. "Call upon me if you ever need my assistance."
"I will."
I'm left alone in the temple with the statue of my parents. I look at them.
Both of them are with me. No matter what comes my way.
I look at the ground. I slightly hover above it at this time. I've never been one for heights, but I'll have to deal with this. Brave my way through what makes me uncomfortable. Trust that I'll be okay. If I find my sister, then I can try to calm her down.
It's not easy, but I have to try again.
My wings flap as I glide to the door. I reach out for it, opening it in one motion. As I move past the door, I'm met with the sun setting upon the forest surrounding me.
This might be dangerous. But I can handle it, right?
"Alright," I whisper. "Time to figure out how to fly."
I start to flap my wings faster. As I lift off the ground a little more, a smile forms on my face. This isn't so hard! I can figure this out as I go. It's a learning process.
I lean forward to begin moving towards Tranquility. I'll know I'm close once I see the divide. One of the forests is alive, the other is actively dying. It might be harder to tell when I'm in the dark, though. We'll see.
The sun continues to set while I fly closer and closer towards Tranquility. My mind races a little. Will I be able to find her in time? Will I be able to talk her into coming back? Will I get hurt? Or Corrupted? I don't know what's next. I want things to go smoothly.
I see the line. The clear distinction between safety and danger. Vibrance and Tranquility. I slowly start to descend to the ground. As my boots touch down on soil once again, I sigh. I hold a hand to my chest. I glance around.
This is it.
I step away from Vibrance. The same anxiety from this morning rises within me as I enter Tranquility. I feel my wings flap in reaction to my mood shifting.
I need to find her.
I start to walk deeper into the dying forest. While there was sunlight shining around the forest this morning, the darkness makes the forest surrounding even worse to look at. It makes me wonder what the future will be for this forest. Is there any way to save it? Will it die without a chance to be brought back?
I don't like where this could be going.
I start to look around in the trees. Last time I saw her, she was there. Is she hiding this time?
