"Amai?"
My attention is brought to the doorway. I sit upon one of the beds in the guest area. My vision may be a little blurry from the tears, but I can make out that my guest is Allisa.
"Hey. Is everything alright?"
I rub my eyes. My vision clears a bit. "I'll be okay." I whisper. "Are you alright? What about Soveliss?"
The elven woman walks over to me. She nudges her head to the space next to me. I nod. She silently sits next to me. Before she begins to speak, she gives a sigh.
"I'm okay. I wasn't affected by these turn of events as much as others were." Allisa smiles at me. "And Soveliss is okay. He's recovering from that teleportation spell. He's never transported that many people before, so it likely took away a lot of his energy. But he'll be alright."
I purse my lips. "What about the others?"
Allisa shrugs.
"Soveliss was going to check on Ikimono and Saisho. Neither of them are with each other right now. I think everyone's still taking time to have their space. The only ones I know who are near one another are Sakasu and Naomi. They left a little bit ago."
I shake my head. "I thought she said she needed time to clear her head." I mutter.
"Maybe that was just her way of doing so."
I bury my face within my hands. "I need to get my mind off this... just for a while."
"That sounds like a good idea," Allisa responds, "Soveliss and I believe that once everyone has calmed down, we're going to need to sit down and talk. All of us."
So I'll have to face Ikimono and her dagger eyes again? Or Saisho and the guilt I feel for being the cause of Nova's accident? Can I even look Sakasu in the eye again?
I'm not sure.
"Actually, if you want to get your mind off everything," Allisa speaks again. "Let's go on a little trip. Just a walk into Vibrance. There's something I think you should see."
I look at her. "What do you mean?"
"You know that your parents are both Destinian, right?"
I nod in answer.
"Come with me."
Allisa stands. She offers a hand to me. I take it, and she helps me stand up. Quietly, the two of us leave the guest room. As we walk down the hall to the library, my mind races.
I just want to know how this gets better. This needs to get better. Nova needs to heal, I need to apologize to Ikimono and Saisho, I need to make sure Sakasu is okay. I have to bring my sister home. I can't let my mother down.
I'm scared.
Before I knew it, the two of us had left the observatory. I see the Forest of Vibrance surrounding us as we walk. Allisa is in front of me, leading the way. She still hasn't told me where we're going; she's been quiet this whole time. I've never been one for silence, but I trust Allisa. She's lived in Destiny her whole life.
She knows where we're going.
"Amai, do you remember when Soveliss's parents spoke about your parents? Aurora Sky and Guiding Star?"
Allisa stops and turns around. I stop walking. My eyes look up to meet with hers. I purse my lips for a moment.
"Of course I do." I answer. "Why do you ask?"
Allisa nods before answering. She gives me a grin.
"You see, your parents were really important when they were still around in Destiny. They were seen as heroes. I was a toddler when everything happened, so I don't know the full story very well. Your parents, alongside Soveliss's, tried to stop the Corruption when it was released."
