It was nearly a year in the Safe Haven now. By now some people had ventured off to find anything to tell them about what was once the Earth. One of the new things to be discovered was Christmas. The idea of this holiday made everyone even more excited about trying to renew the world.
But out of all the old traditions found one stuck out the most for a certain group of people. The idea of a mistletoe and the tradition behind gave Thomas, Minho, Brenda, and Teresa an idea.
You see the whole group had been trying to get y/n and Newt together for the past few months. Both being completely oblivious to what was going to happen made them feel like they might just succeed this time around.
So they started moving a makeshift mistletoe around the Safe Haven where they knew the two walked. First in front of y/n place, then Newt's, then the table they sat at, and then finally over the area where everyone sat around.
The mistletoe had been up for a few days now when Brenda noticed that y/n had sat directly underneath it. Brenda signaled the others over to see what would happen. Just as an extra reinsurance their plan would work Thomas told Newt that y/n had something to tell him. And just like that Newt walked up to y/n.
"Thomas said you had something to tell me?" Newt asked.
Y/n scrunched their eyebrows together in confusion. "I have no idea what Thomas is talking about."
Before Newt could reply Minho yelled out, "Hey you two look up! Ya know what that thing means.
"Newt and y/n looked up to see that they were both standing under a mistletoe.
"Oh." was what they both said.
"So umm, it is tradition so I guess we have to. But if only if you're alright with it!" Newt said already blushing.
"Can you too just kiss already!" Minho yelled out.
After a few moments of awkwardness the two did.
"Now that's all out of the way, I've been m-meaning to s-say...wouldyougoout withme?" Newt studdard out.
"Wait r-really? I'd love to to." Y/n replied back.
"Wow it only took four months but we finally got them together!" Thomas yelled out earning a glare from the two.
