Kaito's POV
It's been 6 months since my run in with Laughing Coffin. I have gotten over all of it and accepted it for what it was a set up in the end but thanks to that I was able to grow stronger and find a goal to reach. Now I can actually start to enjoy my time here rather than always fighting to clear this game. My goal is to win as many duels as I can in this game and remain undefeated for as long as I can. Besides that I have an interesting quest for me to do in my spare time. It's called "Champion" , a monster clearing quest where I have to beat certain area bosses to get some kind of special reward. I still have no idea what the reward will be but I can't wait to find out and then sell the information to help those other players. It's a shame since the assault team's progress hasn't been the best so we are taking a break to rethink our floor clearing process. It is the week of Christmas and everyone was having a good time celebrating. I think it's the first time I've seen so many players happy. Odin invited me to go to his guilds party but I have something else I have to take care of before we head to the next floor. I need to get myself a new weapon. My current sword is ok but I need something better if I'm to stand a chance against the other stronger monsters on higher floors.I've tried every weapon shop but they didn't have any decent swords that peaked my interest. So now I have to hope I can score a new weapon off a monster or in a dungeon. I thought about going today but someone's been on my back about how much I have been in the dungeon lately. I get a message notification from Asuna and Kirito but I really don't want to answer them but I guess in the spirit of christmas I should.
Asuna: Merry Christmas Kaito, I'm glad to see you're back on the front lines. It's a lot easier with you helping out now. I think we can make some real progress now. Anyway when you get a chance to stop by the guild the commander has a present for you in congratulations on earning your new nickname. PS you happen to be one of the players he plans to scout out.
I heard that the leader of the knights of the blood oath was said to be the strongest player in the game. Maybe I'll challenge him when I get the chance.Now what has Kirito sent me.
Kirito: Hey Kaito I need a favor. Could you let me know if you hear any rumors of an item that's supposed to drop during the Christmas eve event.
I haven't heard anything about a special item dropping or even a Christmas event. I really should improve my intel gathering or else I'll always be a step behind everyone. Well if I hear anything I should tell him any way i respond to his message with a thumbs up symbol. As for how I should respond to Asuna, She's usually a monster but sometimes she can be caring but I think she needs to work on her attitude.
Asuna's POV
I was sitting in the guild hall going over reports since I told the commander I'd take over while he's out for the holiday. Life here is starting to be a little too real shouldn't we be focusing on clearing as many floors as possible instead of taking a week off but I guess some things can't be avoided. As I'm going through the reports I get a message notification and open it to see it from Kaito. He isn't the type to respond to people's messages, just read them and give a response when he sees them again. I had to see what he sent me as I couldn't even imagine what it said

Kaito: Merry Chrismas Asuna, I know it's early but you did it first so anyway thanks for the message I'll be over later to meet your boss til then Asa.
Kaito has been really different lately though he still plays solo but he now at least will be willing to work with others. He also seems to smile a little more than before. Maybe he found something to make him happy.

It's been a few days now and it's Christmas eve night. I have been hearing more rumors about a special one time event for tonight but I have no idea of where to go or even what kind of boss it will be. Trying to gather more information led me to Argo, a pretty good info broker but I do owe her for not paying last time.She was standing by the Christmas tree with her hood up like usual.
