Floor 40
Kaito's POV
It's been two days since I've met the Aincrad Knights. At the moment I'm having my battle with Leo and I gotta say he isn't as lazy as he lets off. As I swing my sword he blocks it with the pole of his axe and he counter attacks only for me to move back. We start to clash attack after attack while he is using the extra weight of the axe to increase the force of his attack. Trying to land a signal strike is going to be harder than I thought. No open spot anywhere. If I wanna beat him there's only one chance the moment he blocks with the pole of his axe. That's when I'll unleash as many skill as I can hopefully that's enough to just get 1 hit in.
Leo: Come on, I thought the assault team were supposed to be the best.
Leo swings his axe down giving me a chase to gain some distance. I leap back and dadge his attack. I charge at him as he still hasn't picked up his axe but then I notice how his grip tightens after seeing that I stop right before he picks axe back up.
Leo: Damn you noticed my strategy huh
Me: it was too easy and simple you need to be more creative if you wanna beat me
Leo: Being creative I can do
He spins around with his axe using a sword skill to try and hit me. I draw my sword back and charge my own skill as our two weapons clash and we both feel the shock as we are knocked off balance. I have to regain my balance and can't let this chance slip by. I plant my foot into the ground and swing my sword forward. Leo was able to see it coming as he jumped back off one leg. Just a little further just a second that's all I need. As I think that I feel a shock run through my body as everything seems to slow down I grit my teeth and push my sword forward as it makes contact with Leo. After that everything started to move normally again. Leo fell onto the ground as he saw his Hp had dropped.
Leo: DAMMIT!!!
Hearing the sound of Alice slamming her sword into the ground meant that our battle was over.
Alice: you performed wonderfully Leo but unfortunately our winner for today is Kaito
Leo: Not far I thought I dodged that attack just now
I don;t understand it either but just for a second everything seemed slower just what the hell was that.
Lance: well since you lost Leo that means you lose our bet and you will be gathering supplies today in my place
Leo: ughhhh......Fine a deal is a deal
Lance helps Leo up as I start to walk away from them to think to myself.
Alice Pov
I see Kaito head off by himself, which isn't like him. Usually he's a good sport about things. I wonder what's bothering him. As I was thinking someone tapped my shoulder. And I look over to see its Archer.
Archer: Is it bothering you too
Me: What do you mean
Archer:(so you didn't notice either) nevermind it's nothing I'm going for a walk
Me: Alright just be back before our meeting ok
He simply wave's his hand as he walks away
It would seem everyone's got their own agenda for today. Archer taking a walk, Lance going to find a blacksmith, Ares out in the field again, and Leo who is getting supplies. I wonder what I should do today. I have a few hours of free time and don't know how to spend it. Maybe I should look to see if there are any quests to raise money for the guild. Yes, that sounds like a plan. I start to walk over to the nearest village.
