Chapter 13
No one POV
Alice and Kaito's duel continues as their swords clash across the area. Alice swings her sword as Kaito tries to block it only for him to be forced by. Kaito tries to steady himself as he sees Alice charging at him using <Vorpal Strike>. With having no stability he lets himself fall onto his back as Alice misses her attack. Not letting Kaito get a chance to breathe she swings her sword downwards. In reaction to this Kaito rolls out of the way as she chases him down.
Kaito:(Damn and I thought I was aggressive)
Kaito had no choice but to keep rolling as Alice didn't let him have a moment to get up. Finally thinking of a way out while rolling he swings his sword upward making her freeze for a single moment enough for him to jump up high to get some breathing room. She wasn't one to stop though as she jumped up after him. They clash while falling as sparks fly through the air.
Kaito: You're a lot different from how I thought you'd be
Alice: and you're a little disappointing can't you do better then roll around like a dog.
They're sword clashes as they push back and forth then they see they're about to land as they both push back and land with a nice distance between them again.
Kaito:(Her sword is really heavy I don't remember it having that much weight)
Alice: I had some improvements made on it before our fight.
Kaito: Why didn't you ask me to make them
She doesn't answer him as she just enters her battle stance.
Kaito: Come on Alice talk to me at least tell me what brought this on
Alice: I thought this is what you wanted a chance to fight the Empress now you have that chance.
Kaito: That was months ago. Come on, I know there's a different reason.
Alice: I have nothing left to say to you.
She once again rushes towards Kaito as he readies himself. She comes in and uses <Sonic Leap> and Kaito uses <Vertical> to counter as they're skills clash and the sound echoes like a bell. Both of them go back to clashing they're blades. Kaito soon realizes just how heavy Alice's sword is as he could no longer block her attacks or even match the force behind them. Each clash resulted in almost the same as Alice won and gained more ground unable to do much to stop it. Kaito starts to just deflect her attack but this leaves him no room for attack; he was completely forced to be solely on defense. Alice starts to speed up her attacks making it even harder for Kaito to fight back. Every so often she'd get a single strike in but Kaito was unable to even attempt anytime he tried. She either counters it or she'd block it perfectly with that heavy sword. Alice goes for another attack as Kaito blocks it but not with the intent to lessen the damage. He used the force of her swing so he could leap back further and have some room to think.
Kaito:(Ok so her defense is too great to penetrate straight on. I'll have to change around and aim for her blind spots but even that's not guaranteed to work. She's this strong all on her own I have to say I'm a little more than impressed)
Alice locks eyes with Kaito as she readies her <Vorpal Strike> as Kaito smiles and does the same action. They both are at a standoff waiting to see who will charge first. At the exact same moment they charge for each other. Once they cross paths they stop their skills and go back to regular sword fighting. The clashes were once again even which made Alice confused as just a second ago she had the upper hand no matter what the scenario was. With them now even again Kaito could shine in offensive combat with his endless rush of attacks. She then notices that Kaito's wrist seems to be trembling a lot.
