(Tidbits: Like with Blonde and Blond, Burnette is the feminine term and Brunet is the masculine term, and for those of you that dare to ask me "Well what about neither?" then you get brown. Cause I don't care how you classify yourself I'm just telling what I found interesting.  Enjoy.)

I glare at the three eyed bastard sitting across from me, easily hiding my protective hold on Dipper thanks to him leaning into me to keep from falling over. Tom, however, makes no effort to hide his growling and protective manner over his human. Each iteration of their lives is different, very rarely do they ever look the same as a past life but it does happen, but I think I can speak for both Tom and I when looking at both our humans side by side; they could be twins.

"So~o, are you two just going to stare at each other all night, o~or what?"

I huff, picking up Dipper who naturally leans his head onto my chest as I carry him to my 'room'. "There are blankets in the ottoman, you can sleep on the couch." I hear Tom growl one more time, but he's quickly silenced by his human.

The rest of the night I do my best to stay awake despite the angry claws of sleep trying to pull me in, I can't give in though, I know he's awake in the next room over waiting for me to make a move. He may not believe it but I don't plan on ruining my chances in this world again or my chances with Pine Tree,  I'm going to prove to my soulmate that I can be good to him again no matter how this bastard pushes.
I'm not exactly sure when or how, but the next thing I know I'm being woken up to a wonderfully intoxicating aroma that instantly makes my stomach demand to find its source only to have it drop upon realizing Dipper is no longer at my side. Jumping to my feet I yank the curtain back, surprised to see Tom silently sitting at the counter whilst Marco and Dipper both happily stand over the stove while they quietly chatter to each other. Careful not to grab the two humans attention, I bring myself to sit beside Tom, quietly watching them just like old times.

Tom spares me a glance but doesn't bother trying to start anything, both of us more interested in focusing on the happy little brunets as they move about the kitchen and catch up on meaningless things like school grades, latest forest escapades and other pointless talk. "Remind you of anything?" Tom whispers, not willing to interrupt their smiles.

"It's been a long time since I've seen that soul glow so brightly..."

"Too long."

"Good to see you two not at each other's throats for once." Dipper smiles, placing a plate of banana pancakes with bacon crumbles on top in front of me. I give him what he's after and return his smile, not even bothering to give Tom any attention,  he's busy with his own human right now anyway. After setting his own plate, Dipper happily sits beside me to eat his breakfast with Tom and Marco doing the same. I actually missed this more than I realized, our humans happily sitting with each other and chattering while working on what ever happens to hold their attention at the time with Tom and I contently watching over them, a friendship that's been long since tarnished after my childish outburst. With so much time pasted and now sitting here in the morning light and their souls glowing brilliantly , I don't think I could regret my actions more than I do right now.

"Oh! Tom, Dipper and I are going to head into town, you two won't kill each other while we're gone will you?"

Tom quickly snaps his head over to me, both of us having the same fear, what if who ever is behind all of this followed you here? Despite our better judgement, Tom chooses not to worry them. "Relax, Marco. This bastard isn't worth the effort to off."

"Pot calling the kettle black." I mutter under my breath despite knowing he more than likely heard me, regardless he doesn't act on it since he knows I'm only baiting him. With our half hearted reassurance the two brunets happily finish their breakfast as well as wash the dishes before leaving for town.

After their gone though Tom immediately voices his fears. "I know you're thinking the same thing Bill, and I can forget about the past for now, but what are we going to do if this psycho followed us here?"

"No clue, it's not like either you or I can just walk into town without causing an uproar...even with this damned human form." I growl while angrily glaring at my hand, I've always hated how weak this form was and no matter how much I perfect it humans always seem to know what I am.

Tom nods. "I never got the chance to apologize to you, Cipher..."

"Why would you? I went on a rampage and murdered hundreds then started an apocalypse as soon as I managed to escape my prison."

"I would've done the same thing if I'd saw what you did...and I've spent so long hating what you did to stop and understand why you did...so I'm sorry."

I sigh, tightly gripping his shoulder with a slight shake. "I'm sorry to...asshole." He chuckles, shaking my hand off with his own joking punch to my shoulder. "Speaking of assholes though, what of that snobby princess you tried to use to get over the human?"

"She isn't a snob and I wasn't using her...She'll be fine." He sighs, trying to hide the uncertainty in his eyes. "She and the friends she's with are a real terrifying force if they want to be."

I hum, not really believing him but it's not worth worrying over since I don't actually care if that freak is okay or not. Regardless we need to figure out what we're going to do incase this whole thing goes south, and with our luck

It will.
