I couldn't fall asleep afterwards so I stayed up. I couldn't get him out of my head. He chose to sleep next to me. It was more than that too he was wrapped around me when I woke up.
Today he probably won't remember falling asleep that way. Hell I don't even think he'll remember our conversation or the fact that he chose to sleep next to me.
I wish he could be there every night. I love being able to sleep, and with him I can. By the looks of it, he slept too. I'm sure being drunk and not sleeping for days had a part, but I'm choosing to believe it was me. Because believing is all I have.
"Christ Quinn you can't just disappear the whole fucking day! I texted you and called you, and don't try to tell me you didn't see them!" Dylan shouts.
I need to watch this happen.
I hurriedly pick up my blankets and walk out my door.
Quinn's sitting on a chair and Dylan's standing in front of him. She's pissed.
"I know," he says calmly. How is he so calm she just about woke this house and even the neighbors up with her shouting?
"Oh my god really? That's it?" She lowers her voice. I walk over to them and his eyes lock with mine. I move my eyes to Dylan's direction, eye contact is too much right now.
"He's being completely ridiculous," she says to me.
"I'm not," he says.
I believe he just doesn't want to talk about it.
"The hell you're not. You were gone all day and for all we know you could have been sleeping on the side of the road blacked out. Or you could have gotten lost." A faint smile plays on his lips and he glances at me. I force myself not to look at him. I can feel myself starting to smile. I bite my lip to keep it from forming.
No Dylan, he was sleeping in my room on the floor, with me.
And he remembers.
He fucking remembers. I'm gonna pretend that didn't just make my mood go up a lot.
"But I didn't, all is well," he says and I hear a door. Julian steps out and glares at Quinn.
"Look who showed up," he says but he isn't actually upset. Only Dylan is at the moment. I couldn't be mad at him if I tried.
"Are you kidding me? You aren't totally upset with him?" she says surprised.
"Not anymore. Yesterday, yes, but he's here now." He smiles.
"Vera, are you mad at Quinn?" No.
"I am," I say and hope it was believable. I look at him and he grins. He doesn't believe me, but Dylan does. That's all that matters.
"Good. Now that we've got that out of the way. I'm glad you're back." She smiles.
Damn she switches up fast.

"It's down this way I'm sure of it," Julian says. He's trying to tell us there's a spot to cliff jump out back, but we've been looking forever."Oh stop it, you have no idea what you're doing," Dylan says.
"I can hear the water I'm telling you."
"That's not how it works." She rolls her eyes at him.
I walk out to the side and peek behind some trees. I found it! Me, I did it. So proud.
"Look what we have here," I say and everyone gathers around.
"Ahah I told you I'd find it," Julian says.
