They went home after the incident and immediately went to bed. They were still drunk and still processing what had occurred, so discussing it wasn't an option. When they woke up the next morning, it was eerily silent and for the first time in their lives: uncomfortable. That was until Iwaizumi got fed up. "Tooru, I'm done with this being awkward. Was what you said last night true?" Oikawa slowly placed his mug on the coffee table in front of him and took a deep breath. "Yes." Iwaizumi let out a breath. At first, Oikawa thought it was of distaste, but then he turned around solemnly to see Iwaizumi grinning ear-to-ear. Oikawa tilted his head in confusion, then the realization hit him. "Have we ever really just been best friends?" He said on an impulse. Iwaizumi looked a bit puzzled so Oikawa then said, "I mean, I don't think just any best friends watch every single game that the other plays, or texts and calls them in the middle of a game to say to 'sit out' because they know the other is overworking himself, or when you remembered my entire complicated coffee order just because..." He paused. "Because I love you, Tooru," Iwaizumi finished. The room went still, and the past uncomfortable atmosphere turned bright, as though you could hear the smile, even if not actually there. "...You do?" Oikawa questioned quietly. He felt as though his whole life was made to live up to this moment. Not volleyball, not some college degree that he'd probably need to get: Iwaizumi. "I have since middle school." He said bluntly. Oikawa stammered. "Middle school?! You knew for that long and you didn't tell me?!" Iwaizumi chuckled. "'Didn't think you'd feel the same and I didn't want you to be weirded out, I guess. I don't know, I was young and stupid, and still am." Oikawa nodded. "So... How long have you loved me?" Iwaizumi asked. Oikawa laughed sort of nervously. "I don't really know, I know I have for a while, but I only figured it out just recently." Iwaizumi raised an eyebrow. "How recently?" Oikawa paused, smiling a bit. "Maybe... when you picked me up at the airport." "Which time?" Iwaizumi replied, slow and questioning. "The last time." There was a pause. Then a laugh, followed by another. "So... you'll be my boyfriend right? I've already waited like a decade, I don't want to have to court you and wait even longer," Iwaizumi said, drawing out the longer. Oikawa couldn't stop smiling, "yeah, I'll be your boyfriend. As long as you kiss me." And so he did. The kiss was deep and passionate; years of pent up emotions seeping into it. Oikawa threw his arms around Iwaizumi's neck, and Iwaizumi clutched onto the back of Oikawa's head like his life depended on it. It drew on for about a minute until Iwaizumi pulled back. "Are you crying?" He asked, slightly amused. "Yeah," Oikawa said with a shaky voice, laughing while he wiped his tears. They stayed there, embracing each other and letting their feelings sink in. "Does this mean I can sleep in your room?" Oikawa asked. Iwaizumi laughed again. It was easy, seeming as they were already so joyous. "Yeah. Yeah, you can."

That's the end. If you want I can write a timeskip that shows how they went on after this, but I'll be working on other things until then.
