Being a survivor was not easy. First off, the burn on her shoulder developed into a scar. But it didn't look like a normal scar. It looked like a splotch of blood. (Y/N) grew self-conscious about it. She always hid it. The scar often reminded her of the massacre every time she took a look at it.
Not only that, but the story of the Northern Field massacre had spread quickly & everyone in the Northern Village knew that if they saw the scar on (Y/N)'s shoulder, they'll recognize her as the survivor. Not long after, they began to recognize her without having to look at the scar. She hated it. It was too much to handle. Too many people, too many questions. Sometimes repeated. & overall too many stories. They were all different but they all ended in the same way.
The Survivor stood in the middle of the arson, with a scar on her shoulder & looking at the aftermath that had been created. Now that her family went to the afterlife, it was about time that she will go on her own. The scar that she received from the Fire Lord himself was enough evidence to let people know that the massacre took place.
(Y/N) couldn't take it any longer. She had to get away from these people & make a new start somewhere. She can just become a seamstress. Then probably everyone will drop the whole survivor thing. That was the plan. That was the entire plan. But it came with obstacles. First off, she was eleven. Second, she never travelled alone. Third, if she had to eat, she needed to hunt. Even though (Y/N) doesn't eat meat. So hell no to hunting. Maybe some crops will help.
After deciding on the plan, it was time. (Y/N) grabbed a new war hammer that she purchased & left the village. She didn't care if she would come across as a bitch. All that mattered was forgetting what had happened. Even though it was very hard because of how many flashbacks were playing in her head
*~*~*
The first place (Y/N) went to was another village. She got there by boat. It wasn't easy at first, but she got the hang of it. Then she saw an unagi. She didn't know why it was near the village. Maybe it was like a bodyguard. The village looked very nice. It had a statue of a beautiful woman in the front. She seemed very serious & warrior-like. (Y/N) studied the statue, wanting to know the purpose. A man saw her & walked towards her.
"That woman you're looking at is known as Avatar Kyoshi," he said,
"Avatar Kyoshi. What was she like?" (Y/N) asked,
"Avatar Kyoshi had saved the world centuries ago. She brought justice & it brought peace. Maybe you can be like her one day."
"Maybe."
The man smiled, & walked off. Continuing his day. (Y/N) continued to look around the village of Kyoshi. It looked very decent. Except for the unagi that had appeared out of the ocean. But she thought it was pretty cool. However, even though it was a pretty village, she had to see what other villages were there. Mostly because she wanted to see if no one will recognize her as the survivor. When she finished exploring, she sighed. It was time to go now. (Y/N) grabbed her war hammer & walked to her boat.
It didn't take long before the unagi arose from the ocean & roared a mighty roar as he spotted (Y/N). It was obvious that he was pissed, but he was also scared. (Y/N) rowed the boat towards the unagi. She could calm him down. But that type of courage, could lead to her becoming an ocean warrior. She'll have to battle sea creatures most of the time, but at least it'll be better than being the survivor.
The unagi roared again as (Y/N) got close. Then his head got close to her face. He was growling & his eyes were filled with rage. (Y/N) didn't hesitate to put her hand on his head. When she did, the unagi stopped growling & looking ragefully. Instead, he circled her happily & licked the side of her face. He seemed to like her now.
