(Your POV)
You wandered away from the rest of your classmates and into the park when the blackout happened.
You were really far away. You could hear terrified screams coming from the Festival's place.
Confused, you just turned around. Trying to get your bearings about where you were and what happened.
"Blackout..." You muttered.
You began to jog back to the courtyard, until you heard voices.
They were deep. They were...adult. And they were definitely from a huge carnivore.
You quickly climbed up a tree. Listening, you jumped across tree after tree to get closer to the voices.
Finally, you found them.
"I see one now. Pure white. Rabbit. Boss'll love that one."
"Nah, he'd like something bigger. Meatier, that is."
"I don't think he'd care."
You listened to them talk.
You understood what they were talking about.
They were 'checking out the menu'.
"Sometime soon we should come around again and get one."
"Yeah, maybe two. I saw a stand over there that had two white-furred animals. He'd like those for sure."
Catching yourself off-guard, you fell out of the tree. Right on them.
"Hey!"
"What?!"
You scrambled off of them before they could grab you, and you ran.
You ran hard and fast, straight towards the festival.
You stopped when you ran into a huge, hulking figure. It grabbed you, and you tried to fight it.
"Let go of me!" You shouted. You heard the lights turn back on, then you opened your eyes to see who had grabbed you.
It was Legosi.
"Legosi!" You said, hugging his torso. He hesitantly hugged you back gently.
"What happened to you?" He asks.
You hesitated to tell him what you heard.
No, you won't.
You didn't want him to worry about you.
"I...got lost." You lie. "When the lights went out, I just did my best to follow everyone's scents."
You pull away and wipe your nose with your fist.
"I'm okay." You say, attempting to give him a smile.
It totally looks fake, you know it.
He stares at you for a second, then walks back to the group of Drama club members.
Later that night, you couldn't sleep.
It was probably two in the morning when you pulled out your phone and turned on YouTube videos for no reason.
You were watching them for a while when you felt someone lean on your back.
