(Your POV)

"(Y/N), do you think that we should get creepers to grow up the side of the stand? Or would that be too much?" Haru asked, stepping back and observing the flower shop. You shrugged.

"I think it'd be better to make it seem untouched. That way, the flowers stand out in contrast to the artificial." You say. Haru nodded, satisfied.

"That makes sense. And anyway, it looks great!" She smiled and clapped her hands.

It had been two weeks since the Market incident. Legosi had treated you differently ever since, but you didn't really pay attention. Your flower stand with Haru was coming along really well, and you were excited about the Festival, which would be happening in two days.

"It does." Someone said. You glanced over and saw Louis, then smiled.

"Hey, Louis! Coming to see the progress on the festival?" You shared a high-five that turned into a small hug (you know, the ones where you kinda slap their back) with the deer.

"Oh, just checking to see if anyone was slacking off." He said. "And to see you two, of course."

"Aw, shucks." Haru said, waving her hand. You gave a small laugh at her sarcasm then turned back to Louis.

"I hope I'm not causing trouble for the actor's team..." You begin. Louis raised his eyebrows at you.

"I mean, the performance that's gonna be happening and all. I hope I'm not messing anything up by running this instead..."

"Oh, no, you're not!" He said, smiling. It was rare to see him smile, and you were a little surprised. "I'm happy to let you do what you'd rather. And if that means being with your flowers, then go ahead."

This was out of character for Louis.

Even in a cheery mood, he was unreadable.

Huh.

"Um..." You hear a deep voice behind you. Startled, you breathe in sharply, then relax when you smell Legosi's scent. You turn around to see the gray wolf.

"Legosi, stop sneaking up on me!" You say, punching him playfully on the stomach. When you look up at his face, you see he has a tissue up one of his nostrils. "What's that?"

"Oh..." He says, picking at it. "Bloody nose. A-Anyway, (Y/N), can we talk?"

"Yeah, sure!" You say, smiling up at him. He frowns, glancing around.

"I-I meant...alone." He says sheepishly. Your eyes widen a little, but you smile and nod.

"Sure." You say. Legosi's expression doesn't change, his eyebrows are still furrowed as usual. He leads you away from your friends and to a spicket coming out of the ground, and starts to fill up a bucket.

"S-So, um..." He begins, stuttering. "Y-You...I mean...weather's nice?"

You nod and look up at the sunny sky, watching what little clouds there were.

"Yeah, it is." You say. You glance over and spot a ledger cluster of clouds that were turning gray. "Those clouds better not rain on us, though."

You look back down at the wolf and find yourself staring straight into his eyes.

You pause, and he flinches. But you two hold your stare for a little while longer.

You weren't sure if it was only you, but you felt a spark.

It was a nice moment.

But then Legosi broke it when the water started overflowing out of the bucket.

"Ah!" He said in surprise. You looked down and saw that water was pouring all over his left leg. You giggled.

"Zoned out, I assume?" You asked jokingly. Legosi didn't respond, but looked up at you again.

"(Y/N)...I-I wanted to tell you...that..." He began.

But he was cut off when you sneezed.

"Sorry." You said, rubbing your nose.

"A-Anyway...I wanted to tell you that I—"

"OW!" You shouted, your head smacking on a wooden board some idiot wasn't paying attention to. "Watch it!!"

Legosi stared at you patiently. When you looked back, he had this look of...wonder that you've never seen in his eyes before.

"Sorry, there's a lot going on around here..." You say sheepishly, rubbing your head. Maybe we can talk later? When it's not as crazy?"

Legosi just continued to stare, a look of curiosity on his face.

"Um...sure." He says finally. "Just...please let me talk to you...okay?"

You paused. Then hesitated.

Then you nodded.

"Okay." You said, knowing he was being more serious than he normally is. "Maybe the Festival? That's what, tomorrow?"

He nodded. You smiled and waved.

"Well, see you then! I should probably help Haru with the bigger pots!" You said, walking back to the stand.

As you walked back, you started wondering what it was that Legosi was...doing, you guess.

What he was feeling. Around you, that is.

When you found Haru, she was standing by a tree, distanced from everyone else. You understood, like you, she was an outcast.

Well, that didn't apply here, per se, but you get my point.

"Well?" Haru asked as you came closer. You cocked your head, and she rolled her eyes "Well, what did he say? Or want? What was so important?"

"Oh." You said, coming over and leaning against the same tree. "He didn't say. There were too many distractions, so we agreed to talk tomorrow, at the Festival."

"Ah." She said in understanding. She seemed deep in thought, too.

In fact, you both were so deep, that you didn't notice the lion scent until it was too late.

You didn't hear the throaty, growling voices until they were murmuring into your ears.

And you didn't scream until your mouth was tightly clamped into a large paw.
