"What's that?"

I stop and turn my head to see what he's pointing at.

It's the door to the classroom Tem was killed in. His picture is up, flowers practically barricade it shut, and the gigantic dent in the doors is still there.

"Oh..." I say, turning my body to face it. "There was a predation and...he was a student. That's...where he died."

I hear (Y/N) let out a small gasp. I look down at him and, he's staring at the door.

He walks towards it and kneels down in front of it. I follow him, kneeling next to him.

"Is that him?" He asks, looking at Tem's picture. I nod. "What was his name?"

"His name was Tem." I say.

"He was an alpaca. He was...a part of our drama club. And he...he was my friend. He had a...unique friendship with everyone, including carnivores. And...it was very sad that he died because...because of..."

"Because of people like us?" He finishes for me. I nod.

"It's sad." He says.

I look over at him. He straightens up a little and looks at Tem's picture straight in the eye.

"Tem...I never knew you, but I'm sorry you had to die here. I'm especially sorry it happened because of someone like me, and, I hope you rest in peace. No matter where your body is, I hope your spirit rests in a better place."

I stared at him the whole time he spoke.

His face was full of solemn and genuine friendship for this person he'd never met.

And he had practically blessed his spirit.

I was amazed.

"C'mon, let's get to the drama room." He says, getting up. "I don't want to come across as lazy by coming late."

I blink, snapping myself out of my daze. I stand up and take the lead again.

"Thank you for telling me about Tem." He says. "I've known people who've gotten eaten, too."

I make a noise that sounds a little like 'hm' that acknowledges his comment.

I think later I'm gonna try and make him smile again.

I like his smile.

(Your POV)

"So you want to be on the actor's team, huh?" The red deer Legosi was talking to earlier asked you.

"I guess so." You respond. The deer looks you over, eyelids drooping tiredly and lazily.

"You don't look like too much." He says.

You stiffen up. What did he mean by that?

"If you want to make the actor's team, first you have to prove you can act."

He walks over to a table by the wall and picks up a script. He flips through it, rips two or three pages out, and walks over to me. He hands me the pages.

"Memorize these for however long I like you to, and we'll do the scene." He says. You take the pages and look them over.

The scene is about two friends, one is attempting to commit suicide. The other is trying to convince them to continue living.

It's not too hard to remember. You just don't know which character you are in this-

"Time's up." He says, taking the pages from me. "Let's begin the scene."
