The Festival's Happy Mood

You all got back to school alright. Things between you and Legosi weren't really awkward—it actually was pretty much the same.

It's just, you both seemed to have moments when...you wanted to, I guess...look at each other?

Anyway, the Festival came not long after the Shishigumi incident. You remembered how Legosi wanted to tell you something. After the hotel, you had an idea.

But...it couldn't be true, right?

Nobody else in Japan (as far as you've seen) is gay. Right?

"(Y/N), are you okay?" Haru asks. You snap back. Right. Festival. Flower stand.

"Hi, sorry, zoned out." You say. Haru giggles.

"Your connection with Legosi is getting a little deeper, eh?" She says jokingly, elbowing me. I laugh.

"Oh, sush, nothing happened." You say. She has a 'yeah, right' look on her face.

"Sure, sure." She says with a wink.

A crowd starts forming around the stage. You notice the stage lights start turning on, and performers come onstage.

"You wanna see the show?" You ask Haru.

"Nah, I'll keep up shop." She says. "Go ahead, I got it."

You give her a little nod and wave, then jog over to be part of the crowd.

A dance begins. That wolf, Juno, is onstage.

Odd. This isn't how you remember the dance being like. The carnivorous dinosaur doesn't get this much stage time.

Once it's over, she's handed a microphone.

Is she gonna give a speech?

"Thank you all for coming tonight!" She begins.

"(Y/N)!" You hear someone behind you. You turn around, and it's Legosi. He's trying to go through the crowd, towards you. You weave through the the crowd, towards him, too.

"(Y/N), I..." Legosi says when he finally comes over to you. "Remember how I wanted to tell you something today?"

"Yeah?" You say.

"Well, I...I wanted to tell you..." He begins.

"...Legosi the Gray Wolf!" Juno says through the speakers. A spotlight lands on the wolf in front of you.

He looks up at the stage, confused. Two of the stagehands lead him onstage, away from you.

"He recently saved two students from the Shishigumi, bravely protecting them and bringing them back safely. He has also shown tremendous leadership in the club too, taking initiative and remembering what's important to him." Juno spoke.

Legosi looked very confused.

"Thank you, Legosi..." She continued. "For being an example for all carnivores."

The way they stood onstage together. The fact they were both gray wolves. The 'perfect couple' straight energy they gave off.

It pissed you off.

You didn't stay to listen anymore. You stopped by the stand to grab your hoodie, slid into it, and pulled the hood up, putting your ears through the holes made for them.

You put your hands in the large hoodie pocket, and wandered away from the stage...and the whole Festival.

You sat down on a bench, far away from the Festival. Well, far enough that you could still see it, but it was still relatively far enough that you weren't really a part of it anymore.
