It was the weekend and Evan decided to invite Tommy to a party. Tommy didn't want to decline the offer so he accept it but he was still not sure if it was a good idea.
Evan thought about his immature behavior and decided to treat Tommy like a friend, not just someone who was helping him with his homework.
Evan didn't want to tell Tommy about this because he though that the boy might feel disappointed in him.
It was late when they got to the house where the party was being held at. The party was great and it only took a few minutes for Evan to leave Tommy alone.
Evan wasn't thinking about Tommy because he only had one thing in his mind.
Alcohol.
Tommy on the other hand, only drank on special occasions but he decided to loosen up a little bit.
Sam was at the party as well and when he saw Tommy drinking alone, he decided to make him company.
"Hey" said Sam awkwardly.
"Um hey" said Tommy a little bit drunk already, he didn't hold his alcohol very well.
"Do you want to go to outside?"
"Sure" Tommy said.
They both headed outside, looking for some silence.
Evan regretted leaving Tommy alone.
He shouldn't have done it.
He was already a little tipsy but was still able to walk properly. He was looking for Tommy but didn't found him.
Meanwhile, Tommy and Sam were sitted near the pool side of the house.
"Can we talk about what happened between us" Sam asked all of a sudden.
"What is there left to say?" Tommy said bitterly, he was being mean and he knew it. Perhaps it was the alcohol that gave him the confidence to talk to Sam like that because if he was sober, he would never talk to anyone like that, no matter how much they deserved it.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have broken up with you like that" Sam said.
"It's okay, I'm over it" Tommy said. And it was true, he was over it. He didn't have any romantic feelings towards Sam anymore because he was head over heels for Evan now.
The only explanation for their break up that Tommy found was that Sam only wanted sex and once he got it, he left.
"Tommy, I know that you think that I was only with you for sex but that was not the case" Sam said almost as if he read Tommy's mind.
"Was it not?" Tommy asked with watery eyes. He was not hurt because Sam broke up with him, it was because he didn't know the reason so he assumed that Sam only used him for sexual satisfaction.
"Tommy please don't cry." Sam pleaded.
"My parents made me broke up with you because they found out about my sexuality" Sam confessed.
"You were very special to me, I was only seventeen but I liked you so much. You made me happy" Tommy said, tears falling down his face.
"But suddenly you broke up with me and after that, you ignored me for the rest of the school year" Tommy continued.
"I know, but I didn't want to loose my family at the time, they put ideas in my head, they manipulated me" Sam said, getting closer to Tommy.
"And now I know that I was wrong because they are horrible people who don't care about me" Sam looked down to where his feet were.
"I'm sorry for everything I did to you" Sam said with tears in his eyes.
"It's okay, I forgive you. It's been forever since it happened and I just needed it some type of closure, something that gave me the answers that I need it and now it's ok, it's really ok" Tommy reassured.
Tommy still fear that he was not enough. His insecurities were stronger than him. But he was not going to tell that to Sam.
Sam hugged Tommy tightly. He did feel sorry for breaking Tommy's heart.
He regretted his decision for so long that it was finally possible for him to be at ease with himself.
It was fine, they were ok now.
At the other side of the pool stood a tipsy Evan looking at them with a frown on his face.
