"And that's how I met and fell in love with your father" I finished.

"Tell the story again but when Jacob is not asleep" our son Dylan said.

"Jacob baby, wake up, go to bed" I said trying to wake him up.

Jacob opened his eyes but closed them again.

Dylan gave me and Evan a hug. "Goodnight dads" he said.

Dylan woke his brother up. Jacob was still sleepy but he managed to stand up.

"Goodnight Jacob" I said.

Jacob only looked our way and half waved.

They both headed to bed.

"It's incredibly how much they have grown" Evan says, once Dylan and Jacob are gone.

I get closed to him and kissed him on the lips.

"It seems that it was yesterday that we adopted them."

"I know right. Time flies" I said nostalgically.

It has been 7 years since Evan and I got together. 7 years of shared experiences and memories.

We got married on our four year of college.

We adopted Dylan and Jacob two years ago.

Jacob and Dylan are twins, they are 12 years old. They were inseparable when they were in the orphanage.

We didn't have the heart to just adopt one, so we adopted both of them. They are honestly the best thing that could have ever happen to us.

I work at their school as a teacher and Evan works as a business analyst. We worked hard in college and our hard work paid off.

Evan stopped swimming in his third year because he felt that it wasn't really his dream. Evan actually thought that he like it but it wasn't the case.

He just continued with his major, nothing else. We bought a house three years ago and also adopted a dog. His name is Odie, our son Jacob named it.

Evan got closer to me and started patting my head.

"Should we go visit my brother James? He has a newborn baby and he wants us to go visit."

"Sure, I'm sure Jacob will be happy to spend time with a baby" I chuckled. Jacob hates babies. He hates the way they cry and how they are clingy.

"Have you talk to your parents?" Evan asked.

"I have and they wanted Jacob to stay at their house for the weekend, should we let him go?"

"Sure, just talk to them about not saying anything inappropriate in front of him" my husband said.

I nodded.

My parents still act as if they did nothing wrong, I've decided to forgive them.

I kissed our intertwined fingers "What about your mom?" I asked.

"She is staying at my aunt's house."

Evan's father passed away a few weeks ago because of a drug overdose.

Mr. Summers was a drug addict. Evan's mom tried to help him quit several times but he never did and the consequences of his actions resulted in death.

"How is she doing?" I asked.

"She's doing ok, she just needs time."

We stayed in silence for a few minutes.

I noticed that he seemed very distracted.

"What are you thinking about?" I asked.

"I'm just reminiscing about our college years, about every memory that we've created. Every day I spend with you is just as special as the first one" his voice cracked.

"Stop, you are going to make emotional too" I said.

"I remember when you were my innocent Tommy. When you were insecure about yourself." He cupped my cheeks.

"We've come so far and it's nice to see the growth in ourselves." I said.

"Please don't ever leave me" Evan hugged me.

"I will never. I love you too much and besides, we have a family now, we have children to raise."

"You and our kids are the best thing that could ever happened to me." He wiped a few tears away from his face.

"I feel the same way about you" I said kissing the tip of his nose.

"It's already time for bed" He said getting up from the couch.

"You got school tomorrow too mister" he picked me up bridal style.

"I know"

He hid his face in the crook of my neck.

"I love you" he whispered.

"I love you more" I said, remembering the first time we said it a few years ago.

It's crazy how our lives have changed. I met the love of my life in college, together we decided to be ourselves and not let our insecurities get the best of us.

And now we're married with two wonderful kids.

"Let's go to bed."

"Let's go."

The End.

I finished it! Yay!!
