"your stance is too wide," billie commented. "if you stand like that, i can easily do this."

she hooked her leg behind my own leg and tripped me, though she grabbed my hand and gently eased me onto the ground. i pouted as i looked up at her.

"sorry." she chuckled as she helped me back up.

she then grabbed my shoulders and moved them some. "now put your feet closer together."

i did so, and she smiled. "there you go."

she stepped back some. "so, why do you wanna learn how to fight anyways?"

"well, i think that everybody should at least know how to. it's a useful skill," i shrugged. "not to mention, i'm a small girl, bro. i need it for self defense and shit."

"valid point," she nodded. "okay... so, try and punch me as hard as you can."

"i'm not gonna punch you, bil." i furrowed my brows.

"i'ma be able to block it," she snorted. "which is why i said try."

"you're too cocky for your own good sometimes." i shook my head.

"maybe," she chuckled, then held up her hand. "okay, so just punch my hand then. i wanna see how hard you can hit."

i raised a brow. "okay..."

i pulled my fist back then punched her hand. her eyes widened as she pulled her hand back and started shaking it.

"ow. damn, i wasn't expecting you to be able to hit that hard," she said in disbelief. "sheesh, remind me not to piss you off."

"you shouldn't piss me off even if i couldn't punch hard." i pointed out.

"true, true."

we continued for a bit longer.

"okay, so watch this." she instructed.

she made it look like she was gonna kick me, though she didn't. i had leaned forward a bit, so she threw a fake punch at my jaw.

"see? you try it."

i went to kick her, though stopped as her face got close to me. i then threw a fake punch at her jaw.

"see, you got it, there you go." she smiled. i smiled as well.

i heard her back door open, so i turned to see that maggie had stepped outside. "sage? billie? i made some cinnamon rolls if you want some."

just as i was about to respond, billie had bent down to throw me over her shoulder. i laughed as she did.

"put me down, loser!" i laughed.

"nope!"

i sighed as i let myself relax. i rested my head on her back. i then smirked before smacking her ass.

"ayo?!" she gasped.

by now, she had walked into the kitchen.

"i said put me down." i defended.

"fine." she playfully huffed as she put me down.

i turned around and she wrapped her arms around my waist from behind. she rested her head over my shoulder.

"hi."

"hi," i giggled. "you gonna let me get a cinnamon roll?"

"i just wanted a hug." her nose scrunched up.

i booped her nose. "too bad." i teased.

i walked over and got a cinnamon roll. billie got one as well.

today is christmas. i had spent the first half of the day at my house. i had opened the gifts my parents got me, and then i gave them some gifts as well. we then watched a movie together.

after that, i came over to billie's. we exchanged gifts as well. we cuddled for a bit and just laid around and talked for a while. i had then suggested that she should teach me how to fight, and that's where we are now.

"your mom can cook good as hell." i mumbled after i had chewed.

"right?" billie's eyes widened. "good as fuck."

after we had finished eating, i had made sure to thank maggie before billie dragged me to her room.

she pulled me onto her bed with her, and she draped an arm around my waist. she pulled me closer, and she looked at me with a soft smile.

"what?" i blushed.

"nothing, she murmured. "your just pretty, that's all."

"says you," i poked her dimple. "you're literally gorgeous."

now it was her turn to blush. "i don't know about all that."

i reached a hand up to cup her cheek. i gently stroked her cheekbone with my thumb. "i'm serious, baby. you're so pretty."

i smiled as her blush deepened. "you're so cute." i gushed.

"yeah?"

"yeah." i confirmed.

her eyes searched mine for a moment. she didn't say anything for a minute, though her smile grew. "i love you." she admitted.

"you love me?" my brows furrowed a bit.

"yeah. i don't even know how to explain it, but i really do love you, sage. i— i've never been more deadass about something than i am right now." she told me.

her eyes widened a bit when i didn't say anything. "i didn't mean to freak you out by saying it so early, i just—"

i cut her off with a quick kiss. "i love you too, you damn loser."

of course i love billie. it's not something i really had to think about. i was just waiting for the right moment to say it, though she clearly beat me to it.

the only thing is... i just wish that she wasn't such an asshole sometimes.

"for real? do you mean it?" she made sure as her eyes searched mine again.

"yes, for real," i giggled. "i really mean it."

she grinned as she wrapped both of her arms around me and pulled me into her embrace. "fuck yeah!"

i laughed as i hugged her back. she kissed the side of my head.

"i love you." she murmured.

"i love you." i giggled again.

her grin widened, if that was possible, as she kissed the side of my head again.

"you're so cute." i told her as i buried my head into the crook of her neck.

"that's all you, my love." she argued softly.

"i beg to differ."

"nah," she shook your head. "you're the cute one, end of discussion."

i placed a soft, innocent kiss to her neck. "i love you." i told her again.

"i love you too."

i wish i could stay in this moment forever.
