Renny wasn't pleased about her torn shirt, neither pissed either. It was a shirt she used on occasion but rarely. Though it didn't mean she wanted it torn apart.
Other than that, both herself and Lucerne did not like Avaro's idea.
"It's too risky!" Lucerne had said, Avaro shoving him through the portal instead of replying. Renny unfortunately agreed with him, saying something along the lines of, "We agreed not to say anything to Zeru or his kind!"
Avaro dismissed this.
"He has to have already known, besides. What if Fuchsia listens to us and is on our side?" He said. "We could be screwing ourselves over by not talking to her."
But they still refused to listen. Standing their ground that Avaro shouldn't say a word to Fuchsia.
Wanting to change the topic, Lucerne decided everyone were to get something to eat. From Renny of course.
Avaro sat in the den, Lucerne nearby. Both waiting. Blaze and Spike had not arrived yet, they were unsure if they will.
"You think she'll bring steak?" Avaro asked, staring at the ceiling.
"I dunno, she just said she's going to bring something for us to eat," Lucerne answered.
"Watch as she brings basic ass sandwiches," the dragon barked a laugh, deep down hoping she wont actually do that. "I don't mind that," Lucerne pouted. "They can taste good if you know what you're doing,"
"You're not wrong, but I want steak," Avaro said, grinning. "Raw or not, it's good,"
"What about charred?"
"Yep, good,"
"Have you ever tried it?"
"Nope,"
"Of course not," Lucerne sighed with a small laugh.
"What? Steak is good," Avaro chuckled, picturing a large steak in front of him. Ready for him for to chow down.
His stomach growled.
"Hungry aren't you?" Lucerne commented.
"Yeah, with all this steak talk. Of course I am hungry!" Avaro exclaimed, looking over at his friend.
"Just give her time, alright?"
"Alright," the dragon pouted, hunching forward. At least he didn't have to smell anything, that would only make him hungrier.
"Why can't I just get a small snack from the prey pile?" He offered, stomach growling again.
"You're already about to eat, let another cat have that prey," Lucerne replied.
"Tsk," Avaro frowned, resorting to watching Lucerne make a mini campfire with some small twigs.
Some time passed, maybe a few minutes, a few hours to Avaro. But finally a portal opened and Renny jumped down, still partially in the portal as she grabbed whatever she left behind. Avaro watched her bend down out of the portal, carrying a large tray.
"Finally!" He exclaimed in joy, already enjoying the smell.
"Something quick but still good," the alchemist chuckled, walking over to set the tray down in front of them.
There was three plates of food, one for each person, customized to their liking.
The plate closest to Renny had some slices of pork in mushroom gravy, peas and mashed potatoes as a side. By Lucerne was a plate of well seasons salmon, a side of seasoned sliced mini potatoes. Cooked just enough to make them soft, but not crispy.
Avaro's plate had, to his joy, a large steak. Covering the entire dish.
"WOW! How did you know I wanted steak?" He asked, beaming.
Renny shrugged. "I thought about giving you chicken, but something told me a steak would be easier and quicker to eat since it had no bones," she replied, watching as Avaro was already grabbing the entire steak with his bare hands. Biting into it and ripping off a chunk like a caveman.
"How did you cook this all so fast?" Lucerne asked, baffled.
"The magic of technology and potions," Renny winked and laughed, taking her plate to eat.
Lucerne blinked, not really understanding, but went ahead to eat anyways.
Avaro ate quickly, enjoying his food despite hardly even having time savor it. By the time the others were about half done, his steak was gone entirely. The only thing leftover were the juices and bits of seasoning on the plate.
"Was it good?" Renny chuckled, eating some mashed potatoes.
"Very," Avaro replied with satisfaction, laying back to rest. It didn't take long for him to realize he'd passed out.
Entering the world of dreams.
Like most of the time, it wasn't clear what the dream was. Just blurs of events and words that were quickly forgotten, though everything smelled like steak.
Avaro watched and listened, mostly enjoying the smell until it faded away.
"Come back," he whined silently.
Glass broke suddenly, lots of it as well. The sudden noise jerking Avaro awake.
"WHAT?!" he cried, looking around for the mess.
"Sorry," Renny apologized, picking up the tray she dropped. "My hands are slippery,"
Avaro frowned as he blinked, realizing none of what she dropped was glass. That was all in his head.
"...It's alright," he yawned, deciding not to say anything. "I would've woken up sooner anyways, this wall is super uncomfortable to lay on,"
Renny chucked, opening a portal. "I would let you guys sleep at my place too, but either you guys share a bed or one sleeps on the couch,"
"I don't mind sleeping with Lucerne, I already technically do it," Avaro said, his friend remaining silent.
"Oh, so you coming?" She asked, motioning to the portal on the ground.
"Oh, nah I'm staying," Avaro corrected. "Blaze should be coming back and I don't want her worrying about where we went. Or sleeping alone,"
"Ah, alright. Well good night, I'll be back in the morning," Renny made a small wave while holding the tray before leaving. The portal closing.
"Well, you ready to sleep or should we wait for Blaze?" Avaro turned to Lucerne, waiting for a response.
"We can sleep, the sun is already setting. Blaze can join if she wants to," he replied, shifting into the fluffy beast.
"Okay," Avaro yawned and stretched, getting up and waiting for his friend to lay down before flopping on top of him.
"Goodnight," he said, voice muffled by fur.
"Goodnight," Lucerne returned, resting his head and staring out of the den.
Avaro closed his eyes, letting himself quickly pass out once more. Hopefully he'll figure out what broke, but it was unlikely. His dreams were nothing more than the usual blurs most people get.
But Avaro didn't want to sleep all night. He had a plan.
Around midnight, the albino managed to pull himself out of slumber. The den still cold. Blaze never arrived.
"Mmmph," he yawned, pushing himself away from Lucerne only to flop back on his tail.
"Blaze isn't here... I hope Zeru didn't tell her to sleep with her own kind now..." He thought as he woke up more, knowing Blaze being with her friend and their family was the better option. Avaro cant be here all the time. Blaze would be alone when he left.
He yawned once more and carefully got up, not wanting to wake up the beast.
"Sorry bud," he apologized quietly. "But I need to talk to her,"
Avaro left the den, entering the dark village. Stars twinkled above, stars Avaro knew were fake.
All he needed was Fuchsia. She was Zeru's kit.
Hopefully the kits don't wake up.
Avaro spotted the den, a pile of logs and sticks plastered with mud that had grown vegetation. A perfect glue as the roots of the plants held everything together.
He headed over to the entrance and dropped to his hands and knees, the entrance much smaller than Mystic's, but he knew inside was just as big. Dug deep into the ground to add space.
Avaro crawled and stuck his head in, the only light coming from the moon outside.
"Fuchsia?" He whispered, trying to find something in the darkness.
No response.
"Fuchsia I need you," he tried again, louder.
Still nothing.
Avaro groped around and grabbed a small rock, squinting and tossing it at what he hoped was a cat.
He heard it bounce on the ground, but wasn't sure if it hit anything before then.
"Mmph, stop it, Rose," Fuchsia's voice mumbled. "Fuchsia!" Avaro exclaimed quietly. "I need you, wake up!"
The pink cat just mumbled in reply, too muffled for him to make out any words.
"It's important, please!" He begged.
"Alright alright, I'll walk you to the litter hole," Fuchsia yawned, a shadow moving as got to her paws.
Avaro quickly backed out and got up, waiting for her to exit.
The mother cat pulled herself out of the den, yawning and still looking half asleep. "Come on, it's really late,"
"I know, but I ain't Rose. It's me, Avaro," he reached over and patted her head. Fuchsia shook her head, stepping back. "Eh?" She looked at him, blinking with tired eyes. "What the... Avaro?? Why are you waking me up in the middle of the night?!"
"Shh!" Avaro hissed, Fuchsia puffing out her fur in irritation.
"You dont want to wake up your kits now do you?" He asked.
Fuchsia frowned and forced her fur to lie flat. "No," she admitted, flicking her tail.
"Alright, follow me," Avaro said before walking off and out of the village. If worst case scenario occured and yelling pursued, he didn't want to wake up the village.
"Where are we going?" Fuchsia demanded as they got farther away.
"Just a random clearing," Avaro answered, picking up the pace.
"Very helpful," the cat grumbled.
Avaro shrugged, not saying anything else.
He lead the false elemental to the clearing with the fallen log, slowing down and stopping. "Here we are!" He announced, turning around.
"Wow, it looks great, bye," Fuchsia meowed before leaving.
"Hey! Come back! I need to tell you somethings!" Avaro cried, waving his arms.
Fuchsia groaned before returning, sitting in front of Avaro. "Okay, what is it that you so desperately need to tell me in the middle of the night?"
Avaro took a deep breath, wondering why everything he though of at the waterfall suddenly vanished.
"It's the world, it's going to collapse," he said awkwardly.
Fuchsia scowled. "What kind of sick joke is this?" He snarled, not believing him.
"Listen! Hear me out!" Avaro exclaimed before quickly explaining the situation. He told her about the wall, Sunset and Renny, how the old cat was framed years ago, the Wild cats test, everything. He said it all.
Fuchsia remained silent, giving nothing away. Not even her expression changed.
"So you see, we need to get everyone out of here soon. Zeru can't be leader anymore either, he's just not fit," Avaro finished, unaware how much he was sweating or how hard his heart was pounding.
He scanned Fuchsia's face through the darkness, hoping for a reaction, hoping he didn't just make a huge mistake.
"I don't know what you have planned, but I am not a part of it," she finally hissed quietly, Avaro's heart dropping.
"Not a part of it?! Everyone's a part of it!" He cried, throwing his hands into the air. "If we don't all work together, we might as well all die here!"
"Well if you wanted us to work together so bad, you could've told my dad the issue from the start! Instead you joined some hate group cause one cat told you a story!" Fuchsia snarled, getting up and lashing her tail.
"Well her story happened to make sense you know!" Avaro snapped, now angry at his friend's denial.
"He's a terrible leader! So was his dad and anyone else before him! You're not even an elemental for crying out loud!"
"That doesn't matter now does it? Spike isn't an elemental and I don't see you complaining!" Fuchsia countered.
"Spike is a Wild cat! You're not! You're not even a prophet!"
"And neither are you, yet you're still here," she growled, only making Avaro angrier.
"You're not even getting what I'm saying!" He yelled.
Fuchsia didn't reply anymore, she only turned around and left. Avaro didn't bother to stop her. He stood there, silently raging.
He should've listened to Renny and Lucerne, he'd made a mistake. Possibly ruining the entire plan.
Worse case scenario.
Avaro waited a bit to calm down before heading back to the village, his anger draining into disappointment.
Fuchsia was his friend, he'd trusted her. And this is what he got.
"I should've listened to them," he sighed, slipping back into Mystic's old den. Blaze still haven't shown up, Avaro assumed she wont. It's too late now, she should be asleep.
He looked at Lucerne, still asleep, and wondered whenever or not to wake him and explain what happened.
He chose not to.
The disappoinment was now shifting into tiredness. Leaving Avaro drained.
He crawled back onto his friend and buried himself in the fur.
"Sorry for screwing shit up," Avaro said silently, closing his eyes and retuning to his dream world.
"Avaro, psst Avaro, wake up!" Someone hissed urgently, shaking the dragon.
"Aaa I'm up!" He cried, squirming away from the shakes.
"We have to get going now!" Renny's voice said as she scooted back.
"Why?" Avaro yawned, blinking open his eyes to look at her, noticing Lucerne was already awake and looking down at him.
"It's Cinder, he's losing his mind!" She explained, eyes wide with fear.
"Why?"
"It's today, the world's going to collapse today!"
