Avaro sneezed, fur tickling his nose as he stirred awake. It was a bit earlier than he would like, maybe late six early seven am. Yet he would just have to do. There was no way he was going back to sleep now. Lucerne was in the usual large fluffy canine form, all curled up around Avaro with Blaze on top of him.
Both were still fast asleep. The night before was interesting. As expected, Lucerne had managed to speak to multiple cats to Avaro's simple two. All of them seemingly on their side, but it's too early to tell. They never know when Zeru just might show up and take them away.
Would Avaro and Lucerne have a trial too? They don't live here, just guests. Would they be banished then?
"If he's willing to kill an innocent hybrid, I'm sure he's willing to kill meddling humans," Avaro told himself as he weaseled his way out of the fur. As usual, he took to the skies and flew around, the wounds on his body feeling significantly better. Though he knew Lucerne would still want to check them sometime today, just to make sure.
Avaro just wanted to enjoy himself as of right now. Watching the sky brighten.
He didn't return to the ground until the early hunters came back with fresh kill, allowing Avaro to get himself some breakfast. There was still over an hour to wait before the chance of one of his friends will wake up, unless they wake up early for whatever reason. Avaro got some extra prey anyways for them.
The village was quiet, as usually for such an early morning, but something felt off. If Avaro was correct, Sunset would have most likely saved Cinder by now, or gotten caught herself. Either event should trigger Zeru to spread the news at some point. He couldn't see any reason why the leader wouldn't want everyone to search for a fugitive, or admire his catch of a "criminal."
Renny never did return yesterday, or maybe she did but got lost somewhere. Avaro would have to keep an eye out for her, or have Lucerne make a portal to her home and check.
Too bad he's asleep right now.
It's all waiting.
Avaro hated waiting. He wanted to do something. Talk to someone, hunt, play a game, something.
But here he is stuck in a den making sure two pieces of fresh kill dont get attacked by bugs. Hopefully the smell might wake someone up, like Blaze, but the orange feline hasn't twitched at all.
So Avaro sat there, waiting. For about five minutes before someone was at the entrance.
"Hello?" Spike's voice mewed.
"We're here, come in," he answered, relieved he wouldn't be sitting in silence alone for another hour.
The brown cat made her way inside, the den getting noticably more cramped now. A giant beast, human, and two big cats all in one spot meant for about two or three big cats.
Though Avaro was sure one more person can still fit without popping their personal bubble.
"They're still asleep?" Spike meowed quietly upon noticing the snoozing elemental and celestial.
Avaro nodded. "You're here rather early you know,"
"I didn't think it was that early!" She protested with a huff. "You're awake!"
"True, but lets not worry about that. Anything you need to say about yesterday?" Avaro asked, changing the topic and getting straight to the point.
Spike blinked, then nodded quickly. "Right right, yesterday. I didn't talk to anyone unfortunately, but I did think a lot," she confessed, shuffling her paws.
"Think about what? How Zeru and his species are power hungry monsters and two of our friends are literal relitives of him?" Avaro said, having spent a lot of time thinking about Fuchsia and Stripe. Both having never expressed any odd behaviors, just wanted to have a family and be happy. Not a leader.
Still didn't mean Avaro was allowed to tell them anything.
"Well... A little bit of that... Mostly just Zeru, I've always feared him," Spike admitted, catching Avaro's interest.
"Feared him? I never seen him really angry before, maybe she has,"
"Go on," he urged.
Spike looked uncomfortable as she glanced frequently at the entrance. Almost replicating Avaro's actions when talking to Komet.
"You do know how Wild cats are raised, correct?" She questioned.
"Nope!" Avaro replied honestly, having not even the slightest clue. He could only assume theres training with how fast and strong some are.
"Just... Listen then..." Spike sighed, glancing one more time at the exit before diving into her story.
