"I'm ready."
"You look beautiful, let's go."
We get into the car and while driving he puts his hand on my thigh and dear god he still gives me butterflies. How the hell did I get so lucky? I honestly don't deserve him. I start to realize we're at the beach, I start to stare at that beautiful sunset from the door window. I can feel Tom looking at me, I look back him and give him a smile.
"Something on your mind? Your awfully quiet, your never quiet."
"Nothing, I'm just a little stressed."
"You need to relax, if you need help doing stuff around the house you can always feel free to ask me and I'll help you."
"I know and I'm extremely grateful."
"Do you know what you wanna for your birthday?"
"I don't even know if I want to celebrate it."
"What? That's crazy, leave it all to me. I swear I'll make it the best birthday you'll ever have."
"Alright."
He lightly squeezes my thigh.
"We're here."
He gets out first and walks over to open the car door for me.
"Thank you."
We start walking hand in hand down the beach. I soon start to notice that he set up a candle lit dinner.
"Aww tom I love it."
"I was hoping you would."
We both sit down, beginning to eat then when we were done he takes my hand and we begin to walk around. We stop for a second to look at the moon.
"It funny how I never really took an interest to take time and look at the the stars, their absolutely beautiful. Tom?"
I don't see him next to me. So I turn around to see him on one knee. I put my hand over my mouth. I begin to tear up.
"Oh my god."
"Moon, before I met you I never knew how it felt to look at someone and smile for no reason, I don't think you understand, I don't want anyone else. I promise you no else is capable of making me feel the way you do. Someone once told me If you keep on waiting for that one person you may end up missing out on someone who really likes you, let's just say you were definitely worth the wait. You were the first to ever give me real butterflies, not the nervous ones, the ones that made me feel so in love, so in love that I couldn't even talk without stuttering or blushing. I'll never forgive myself for ruining the best relationship I ever had but I honestly don't deserve you. You gave me so much happiness and joy that I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Luna Elena Gonzalez, will you marry me?"
