One Sided

I am kneeling at the front
Forehead rested on the ground
Hands clapped together
As I pray to anyone that will listen

Church walls surrounds me
Benches all behind me
Emptiness fills the room
Only me in the silence

I could ask for what I want
I could wish for a better life
I could question everything wrong
I could be here for help

I have what I want
I live a peaceful life
I understand why I've done wrong
I been helped

Why am I here?
What am I looking for?
Who am I speaking of?
When did I come here?

I need help
I don't understand anything anymore
My peaceful life been crushed
I don't have everything I want
Not when you left

Left me alone with a broken heart
A heart only for you
You can only save me
But you never left

You were there
And you listened
You just never cared
You listened to me
I ranted and raved
I told my life story
You never told me a thing

Being half-hearted
It's this or another
Only singled viewed
...one sided

I could say sorry
I could pray to change
I could stay until I become new
I could pretend I need guidance

I am not sorry
Nothing around me needs to be changed
Becoming new is soon old
I found where I need to be

Where have I been?
Why is it me?
How did I become into this?
What is happening?

I already lost my way
Becoming new will bring me closer
Everything needs to change
I am forever sorry
I know you meant something good
It just hurt

You laughed when I cried
I cried because you didn't feel
You were controlling
But I needed the attention
And you used my weakness against me
You crowded my judgement

I won't be the same
I been scared
I wished that I was the one to escape
Then I wouldn't be in this position

Being half-hearted
It's this or another
