As a shadow
You see more
You hear more
You blend in
You don't stand out
As the world moves on
A shadow must stay
Watching from behind
Unable to be heard
And all you want
Is to scream
As a shadow
You have to see the pain
You see every fault
You have to hear the calls
You hear all of those cries
As people smile at each other
And laugh with their friends
Have good times
Making memories
And all you want
Is to scream
As a shadow
You are not heard
You are not on their mind
You realize it too late
You cannot be happy
As you watch them walk away
It rips you apart
They leave you alone
To face the dark
And all you want
Is to scream
As a human
You feel it all
You are ignored
You cry alone
You wish for more
