Devi had been sitting on her bed, legs stretched out, half inside and half outside her sheets, her laptop practically hanging off her lap... trying to keep herself awake whilst her tired reddened eyes keep trying to slip shut. She had been attempting to finish of her bio assignment, and it had been driving her insane because, as Devi would like to put it... it was boring as hell!
She basically wants to give up, shut her laptop and dive her head straight into her pillow and sleep.... lost to the world of dreams. That is until... she hears a sudden soft tapping at her window. Wide awake now, she swings her gaze toward the sound, already expecting she would find Paxton gazing back at her from the other side. His darkened hoodie making it harder for her to make him out against the night, but she automatically knew it were him. Her lips curl to a smile, and a warmth comes over her. Excited, she bundles out of bed, almost tripping over her own sheets and almost dropping her laptop, but she's quick to react and catch it, whilst also recovering back onto her feet again like nothing had ever happened. She slides the window open to let him in, and he climbs through, his red sneakers marking the perfectly polished sill with mud, making her a little peeved, but how can she not forgive that gorgeous face with that gorgeous smile staring right back at her... it had always made her heart race everytime he'd climb through her window. He wraps his arms around her tightly the minute his in, leaning down to give her a kiss. Devi's cheeks blush red, feeling as his hand run over the side of her face gently as he continues to kiss her. She reminds herself... any intrusive thoughts of Ben she needs to die down... cut them off before they enter her head-
"Your late." She murmurs into his mouth, pulling away alittle from his lips. His smirk makes it clear that he didn't seem to care, but that smile could never make her unhappy.
"Yeah. I just wanted a break from studying tonight, you know? But, hey, I brought you something." He says, his smile glowing with a sweet cheeky grin ready just for her. Devi's eyes widen, suprised. She hadn't expected him to bring her anything. So she watches him, confused, eyes dropping down to his hands as he pulls something out from his pocket. It glitters and dangles, looking very delicate. He opens up his hand and reveals a simple but beautiful silver bracelet. Devi's brows wrinkle at him, adoring it... adoring him. Her heart cant contain the thumping in her chest thinking of how he had thought of her.
"Oh my god. Paxton." She says as he lets her take it from his hands.
"I know it's corny, but my sister-"
"It's not corny at all! I love it!" Devi blurts out, in delight, then leaping forward to hug him. He chuckles, suprised.
"Well, my sister convinced me you would absolutely love this. She was not wrong." He claims, raising a brow at her as he pulls back to look at her.
Her eyes watch him adoringly, when she takes his face with her hands, pulling him in for a kiss. Paxton's mouth widens, opening to make this kiss more intimate, make it more intense. His lips crushing into hers, Devi begins to feel the warmth of his mouth as his breath tangles with hers, his tongue slipping in making her body erupt with goosebumps. His arms embrace her tightly... and suddenly they begin to walk back toward her bed. Devi falls back against her sheets, tripping over her own two feet, chuckling now at how he were looking down at her. His eyes bright, sparkling at her, with that smoldering smile that would always affect just about anyone. He lowers himself, burying his face into her neck, kissing into it gently, but making her burst into giggles at how his mouth tickles her skin.
"I thought... maybe," he murmurs into her neck as he continues kissing her. "Maybe we could... you know... do more than just study tonight."
Devi's eyes suddenly snap widen open... knowing exactly what he had meant by that. His words swirling in her head, and then she feels herself freeze. Because... she wanted this... she definitely did!... but she didn't?... all at the same time and it were all playing with her head?! These thoughts making her head spin with confusion... then she suddenly realises... her heart is beating differently... and maybe... she hadn't actually thought she were... ready. Why was it only now that it had hit her like this?! Why had it only been now that her mind wanted to conclude to this? ... right?
A million and one thoughts rush through her head, trying to drive her mind insane... and the only one thing it wants to come back to is... how much of this had had to do with Ben... had it to do with him at all? With what he had done and said these past few days... her mind has never felt so confused...
She shifts underneath Paxton, her heart pounding to the thought of... how was he going to take this. Because she thinks about how not long ago she had been the one chasing Paxton, and how easily she had been ready to make things intimate with him... and now that he wanted it... she hadnt been quite sure she were ready to want it back...
Paxton and Devi had never really actually gone beyond the point of doing more then making out... although, she had to admit, they had come close to passing that boundary on that first night he had first climbed through her window... Her heart is pounding.
Devi shifts again when Paxton presses deeper kisses into her neck, and suddenly she feels as he sucks a mark onto her skin. Good god, her mind snaps out of her thoughts, racing onto new ones! As much as that had felt amazing coming from Paxton... she also wonders how perfectly visible that mark would be the next day! What if people notice? What if her own mother notices?!
She presses a hand to his chest, stopping him before Paxton could suck more marks onto her and pulls him back alittle, surprising Paxton, and making his head pop up instantly. He glances at her confused... A cute puzzled look, Devi simmers to... oh god, he is looking at her with those eyes, big and bright and all too sweet...
"Are you ok?" He questions, tracing her face, trying to read her. "Sorry, did I go to fast. We don't have to do anything if you dont want."
Devi freezes... because she doesn't know what she wants to say... She wants him... but she doesn't... what the actual hell! Her inner voice screams at her!
So she offers him a smiles, although a little awkward, she still smiles as she plays with her hands pensively. And she didn't doesnt know if she can look at him properly... she didn't want to see a disappointment written on his face...
"Sorry Paxton... yeah, I-I just we may be going to fast." She says, then clears her throat.
He must think Im insane, Devi thinks to herself. One minute I'm ready to hook up in his garage... the next I'm rejecting him wanting to make love to me! These thoughts burn in her mind, scolding her.
He sits himself up. His eyes wondering over her. His eyes so gentle, his back slouched slightly.
"Ok." He says simply, running his hands over his knees. She watches him as he flops back against the bed, running his hands over his face, an awkward silence in the air. She wonders what his thinking... but she could clearly see the disappointment. He had been waiting for this, she could tell... He lifts himself up again after a while, a faint smile beginning to appear across his face. When his smile grows, widening on his face, Devi feels a relief sweep over her. Sitting on the edge of the bed, he pouts a smile at her.
"Can I take you for a drive, though?"
Devi huffs out an amused laugh, mostly from how his adorable eyes were watching her... a wide grin curls to her lips.
"Yeah sure Paxton. Where do you want to take me?"
"On a date, Devi. And you can not know until we get there." He says playfully. Her eyes smile at him and he already knows she's all in.

So Paxton's idea of a date was not what Devi had thought or imagined...
Devi had snuck out at this hour of the night to be driven to a burger joint, and then driven half way across town to a park.
Paxton hops out first, with their bag of food in hand, then helps Devi up onto the bonnet of his car. Stretching his legs out, he searches through his bag of food and pulls out a burger for Devi. She takes it with a sheepish smile.
She looks up... the sky's glittering lights adorning like diamonds sparkling against the dark night... looking down upon them... making her heart implode from its dazzling beauty... it makes her breathless. Paxton catches as she gazes at the night sky, watching her with a knowing smile.
"It's beautiful out here, isn't it?"
Devi scoffs a laugh.
"Hell yes."
He chuckles, amusedly at her blunt reply. But he can't keep his eyes away, letting his eyes trace over her, admiring how beautiful she had looked just sitting there admiring the sky.
He traces a finger down her cheek.
"Beautiful like you, Devi." He says sweetly.
Devi's eyes trace toward him. His eyes gleaming at her warmly... like a pool of water inviting... his lips a darker shade of red, and his smile... his smile tugging to the side... her heart flutters...
He suddenly looks away, his head popping down to peak into their bag of food. Pulling out his burger, he takes a bite.
"Oh damn..." he hums, nodding his head, satisfied. "Damn these are good."
It makes Devi laugh, watching as he closes his eyes, playfully firmly focused on every taste of every bite of his burger.
"That good, hey?" She laughs.
They talk under the night sky, laughing and playfully mucking around... Devi particularly loved stealing his chips just to see him squirming to get them back.

When Devi receives a text, eyes widening, startled, thinking only of her mum. She is probably wondering where I am, she will probably kill me, she will probably- her thoughts stop instantly...
Ben.
Ben: Can I talk to you?
Hiding her phone, as Paxton rests his head against the car window screen, closing his eyes, she texts back.
Dev: Do NOT come to my house.
Ben: Can I call you?
Devi: No.
A few more minutes later.
Ben: Ok.
