Chapter 22

Y/N POV:

"What's going on... who are you? Why can't I see you........ Wha— Ack!!? *cough cough*"

I felt my abdomen crunch and curl up as I felt a something drop directly on my stomach. I opened my eyes, coughing as I looked around me.

My vision was blurry but I could tell I was in my lab. My head felt dizzy as if the world were spinning around me.

I raised my hand, about to rub my eyes. But just before my hand could even get less than a foot from my face, my eyes widened and my heart dropped.

Unlike my overall current vision, it stood clear as day. In my hand surrounded by glitches.... was the red glowing gun.

I watched as my hand kept glitching back and forth between the red glowing gun and my fingers formed as a gun.

Either way, it was completely obvious that what I thought was a bad dream was instead a complete reality. Or more appropriately, it was a complete joke.

I'm not sure what happened to the "better" me but I don't see or hear her. I'm assuming I'm safe.... for now at least.

Just as I was thinking, I felt a painful pinching along my hand. I gritted my teeth in pain as I stared downwards to see Little Demon on my stomach, biting my hand.

"Ow! What the hell?!... Little Demon, you're gritting your teeth. What's wrong? Are you in pain?", I asked, picking up the bunny as I gently looked to see if there was anything wrong.

After a very quick little inspection, I found nothing to be wrong about the animal and slowly put the creature on the floor as I raised an eyebrow.

"....we you're not bleeding... but you jumped on me and bit me...... I see Maki's gone. What's going on?"

Just as I asked that question, the furry animal ran a few feet away from me before turning back and furiously stomping its foot.

Something's definitely wrong. Little Demon only acts like this if something is wrong. There's so much happening at once right now but Little Demon seems very stressed.

I immediately stood up, dusting myself off as I stared at the black bunny. "Ok.... I'm ready. Lead the way..."

With those words, the rabbit sprinted through the tunnels and halls with me following behind.

I was still very much in a daze and questioning my reality so nothing came to my mind at first when I saw Little Demon react that way. But it all made sense once we were met with the scene of the crime.

I furrowed my brows, my brain running miles as my eyes locked on the large amount of pink dried blood on the floor.

I quickly picked up Little Demon to make sure the scene in front of me wasn't damaged as I slowly examined what was in front of me.

"So this is what you were stressed about... thanks. I don't think I would've come across this if it wasn't for you. The real question is what the hell happened."

Was there seriously a murder while I was busy being depressed? No, it can't be. Maki, Tsumugi, and Kokichi are the only ones who know about my lab. There's a pool of blood in front of me with footprints leading out outside of my lab. What happened here?

Nothing made sense to me. Not until I turned around and spotted buckets of paint leaning on the tunnel wall.

I felt my mouth dry up as I bawled my fists. I slowly approached the buckets. Right when I peeked through the top of the buckets, my stomach dropped to see nothing.
