Dead Friends

Hi guys!!! I had a half day today so I finished up writing the chapter and decided to update earlier than usual! So this is the update of the week, comment and tell me what you think below!!!

"What?! That's impossible, Re-" Angela was cut off by Aron throwing himself at the shield, a spider crack running up the middle.

"Angela focus or it will break!" I yelled and she shut her eyes, the crack closing back up.

Aron growled and began pounding against the shield, little cracks running along it as Angela began crying out in pain.

I groaned and turned to her.

"Ange I can help just don't freak out okay?" I said hesitantly.

She looked at me and grimaced then gasped out, "Please."

I nodded and quickly grasped her wrist, a purple pulse running from her to me, surrounding my body then sinking in.

"W-what was that? Are you.."

"No." I said firmly and shifted Ness behind me, holding my hands up allowing a blue shield to push off of me and merge with Angela's.

The cracks quickly sealed and he jumped again, punching at the shields sending sharp pains into my head.

"Ow, now I see what you mean." I muttered as he landed another hit, literally rocking my head back.

Long cracks ran from the base all the way to the top and a victorious grin was twisted into his mouth. He brought his arm back and punched forward, breaking through the shields. They broke, falling to the floorboards in pieces but disappearing before they could meet.

I quickly moved in front of Angela and Nessie, shielding them from him.

"Oh how adorable." He laughed then crouched down, giving me a deep growl.

"Hit me with your best shot douche." I replied with a hiss.

He smirked then lunged, but before he could even touch us he flew back, a small girl neatly pounced on top of him followed by a one armed Riley.

I exhaled, releasing a breath I hadn't realized I was holding.

The girl was releasing feral growls while pinning him and dodging his hands. He was trying to get rid of her abilities.

Riley quickly grabbed hold of his throat, squeezing with his one hand successfully immobilizing him.

The girl looked back at me, her brown hair falling across her face and over her shoulder. She gave me a grin that resembled a smirk.

"Hey James."

My face crunched in confusion then smoothed back in realization.

I opened my mouth and hesitated, then spoke. "Serenity?"

"Everette up and at 'em." A voice called. I groaned and rolled over out of the bed. I knew the consequences of not getting up when told.

I quickly patted my head, sighing in relief when I realized I had slept with my hair pinned up under my hat. I had made it this far, I couldn't risk being caught as a woman now.

"New recruits, meet soldier Smith in front of the shooting range your going to train him." The man told me. I nodded stiffly and waited for him to leave.

I stood and laced my boots up, tucking my pants in, then pulled on my jacket over my baggy shirt, doing up every button and checking my chest wrap.
