14 | Chapter Fourteen
Brooklyn, New York | March, 2015
I made a dumb decision to be here, but I was here now, and there was no way for me to turn back now. Houston's Car Shop seemed even creepier in the night time. I checked my phone making sure 911 was typed into my keypad. I didn't know why I was so paranoid. In my brain, I'd waltz in there, ask where Nyson or Tyson was, and demand that they show me where Reid was. The worst that they could do is kick me out. Then, I'd most likely head back over to Brooklyn and find Tyson myself (that is, if he wasn't in the building.) I was dressed in a casual outfit. I didn't want to look suspicious by wearing all black. Instead, I settled on a blue crochet sweater and some denim jeans. It was casual yes, but if needed, I would whoop a bitch's ass.
I walked towards the front entrance, disregarding all the warning signs littered around the wall. I'd been here before, I'd conversed with the owner of this whole "dungeon" thing that was happening here. I pushed open the door and walked inside. It wasn't as dark and dusty as the back wing where I was just the last time I was here. There was a man and a woman conversing in front of the door. The man was wearing a bucket hat, and he had shades on his eyes. I recognized the girl from my meeting with Nyson. It wasn't Raven (thank God) but it was another one. She, just like Raven had curly hair, but her hair was placed in a high bun ontop of her head. Both the guy and the girl turned to look at me.
"Is Tyson or Nyson here?" I questioned.
"Who's asking?" The girl questioned. I looked around before pointing at myself in a sarcastic matter. "I mean, I'm the only person here." I stated, winking at them. The man besides the younger girl let out a small laugh, but when the girl turned and faced him, his amused look fell from his face.
"What's your name?" She questioned.
I couldn't say Raven's name for I knew that she knew who she was. So, I sucked in my breath and told them the truth.
"My name's Isis, I've actually been talking to Tyson for a while and I need to talk to him. Like now." I responded. The man turned to the girl. "Jasmine, what do you think?" He stated. The girl, who I now knew was Jasmine, looked me up and down. Her eyes landing on the scar on my cheek. It was still there, and though I could cover it up lightly with make up, you could still see the faint outline of it. Jasmine laughed. "You're the girl Raven cut?" She questioned. I scoffed and rolled my eyes at the mention of that. "Yes, now can you help me find Tyson or Nyson?" I snapped. The man besides her laughed. "Spunk." He muttered.
He took off his glasses.
A mental image flashed in my mind. A picture of Leah and I walking in downtown Harlem. I could vaguely remember the man watching us as we watched and seeing this man here in front of me made me realize that this was who it was. This was who was watching us. I glanced at him. He was on the chubbier side and sported a tie dye shirt and some blue capris. Now that I knew that these people had been watching me, I felt mad. I rolled my eyes.
"C'mon. You too Kingston." Jasmine urged us.
The man, who now had a name, Kingston, followed with us. Jasmine grabbed a hold of his hand. I didn't know if they were a couple or not, but they were hella awkward. I wanted to laugh, but I continued to keep up my nonchalant attitude. We kept walking until we came to a door. Jasmine took out her key before opening the door. The first person I saw was Tyson and I was glad: I rather see him first than Nyson. He saw Jasmine and Kingston first and he laughed a bit before he turned and looked at me.
"Isis, what the fuck?" He practically yelled.
I rolled my eyes at him. "Tyson, please." I stated. Jasmine and Kingston took a step back as Tyson stepped towards me. "What exactly are you here for, baby?" He questioned. I rolled my eyes again, deciding against snapping at him for calling me his 'baby.' "You know exactly what I'm here for, Tyson. Reid." I stated, whispering the last part. Tyson shook his head. "Isis, no, please no. You're going to get yourself in trouble." Tyson stated. I let out an aggravated sigh. "Tyson, you know me. You know I've been looking for him and here I am. Just bring him to me." I spoke forcefully in fear that if I coward around, I would not get what I wanted.
