Wren's POV
We were only a block from my apartment now but I never wanted this walk to end.
Cameron was like no guy I had ever talked to before. He wasn't cocky or pushy like most teenage guys, let alone famous teenage guys. I have to admit, I was surprised.
We turned a corner and there was my apartment looming before us. I have to say, I was a little disappointed. Ok... really disappointed.
"This is it", I said.
A look of disappointment crossed his face too. Or was I just a little too hopeful...?
"So soon?", he fake pouted.
"Oh grow up", I said sarcastically. "We haven't seen the last of eachother yet." I blushed. Did I really say that out loud?
"Well I hope not", he said smirking. His face suddenly turned serious. "I had a really good time today, Wren."
"Me too", I whispered.
He held my gaze for a long time. His warm brown eyes locked onto mine like they were his lifeline.
But the moment was ruined by a baby Mia toddling through the open apartment door screaming my name.
"Hi Mia!", I said as she toddled into my arms. The smile on her face was pricless. I love that kid.
"Who's this?", Cameron asked as he reached out and tickled Mia's stomach. She squealed with laughter.
"This is my sister Mia", I answered.
"She's adorable. And she really loves you", he said.
I could feel the color seeping into my cheeks as Halley came running out the door.
"Mia! Where are-", she stopped short when she saw that Cameron Boyce was standing next to me.
Cameron chuckled at Halley's stunned face and said hi. Halley wasn't obsessed with him like some of her friends were, but his presence in our front yard put her off guard a little bit. She managed a smile though. Halley always tried to be as polite as possible. Maybe that's why she has so many friends.
"Wren, I need you in here", she said to me before going back inside.
"That's Halley", I said to Cameron. "She's had a long day."
He chuckled. "Yeah, looks like this one is quite the handful", he cooed to Mia and tickled her again.
"Anyway, I should probably get going", I said. I hated to disrupt this moment of Cameron connecting with Mia because let's face it, it was the cutest thing ever. "Halley needs me", I continued.
"Of course."
"Thanks again. I really appreciate it. Let me know when I can make it up to you."
"Hey, don't worry about. Goodnight, Wren", he said.
I smiled and hauled Mia back inside. I hope that I get to see him again.
Cameron's POV
As I watched Wren walk away carrying that adorable kid with her, I couldn't help but swoon. I loved how family oriented she was. I had a little sister named Maya, but we never achieved that kind of connection.
I couldn't help but feel like her family had been through something that drew them so close. Wren was a mystery, that's for sure. But that's ok, everyone has their secrets.
All I know is that I wanted to see her again. That part definetly wasn't a secret.
