Cameron's POV

We finished the bowling game with a score of 75-50, her win. I guess she was better than she thought.

"Where should we go next?", she asked as we stepped out into the cool night air. I checked my watch: 1:30 am. Suddenly, an idea popped into my head.

"How do you feel about paddle boating?"

"I'll try anything", she said. I grabbed her hand and we ran off, leaving the bowling alley behind.

Unlike the bowling alley, the paddle boating facility was not open 24 hours. But it wasn't exactly closed. It was a pond in the middle of a public park that was always open.

"I don't see how you can close a pond", I said as we approached it. "So let's pretend that it's open." Wren chuckled and headed towards the nearest paddle boat.

"They're chained and locked up", I said as I came up behind her. "Crap- proof that this is illegal."

She said nothing but reached up and pulled a bobby pin out of her hair. She slid the tip into the padlock and turned the pin. The satisfying click of the lock rang through the air as she yanked it open. "You were saying?", she said as she winked at me. Together, we pushed the boat into the water.

"Where did you learn to pick locks?", I questioned.

"A simple survival technique when you have prying kids in your house", she answered. Her face fell and I knew that referring to Lily and Jen was still sensitive for her.

"Well look out everyone, Nancy Drew is here", I said as an attempt to lighten the mood. She smiled and climbed into the boat. "Damn right", she said. I climbed in after her and we were off.

"I've never done this before", she said. It took us forever, but we finally made our way to the middle of the pond.

"Look at all those stars", she said as we came to a stop. "You know, the stars we're seeing are actually dead. It just takes the light billions of years to reach earth and in that time, the stars have already self- destructed."

"That is fascinating", I said.

"Isn't it?", she said. "It's mind-blowing how big the universe is. It goes on for eternity with huge stars and planets and we are just dots. So small and insignificant."

"You know," I said. "You aren't insignificant. Not to me. You may be small compared to the rest of the universe, but to me, right now, you are everything."

I leaned in and kissed her and tried to prove to her how important she was in that one moment. But that was impossible. After all, it was just a moment.
