Hand in hand, you walked the same way that you had come from back to your hotel. Every once in a while you would swing your hand more between the two of you, which would earn you a little laugh. You loved to hear him laugh.
"Does your team know you're out?" you asked.
"They know I'm out," he answered. "They just don't know who I'm with."
You turned to him. "You don't want them to know about me?"
"It's not that," he said. "They just tend to not leave me alone when it comes to you. It's hard to explain, well, everything I guess."
"Explain what exactly?" you asked, feeling like you could lead the conversation where you were secretly begging for it to go.
He shook his head for a second, his grip on your hand tightening just a little bit. It was so slight that you figured it was just subconsciously. "Well, they're always asking about us. I guess what we are exactly confuses them."
"Can I be honest?"
"Of course."
"I don't know what we are," you said.
He stopped, blinking at you a couple times. "What?"
"Are you saying you do?"
He blinked again. "I- I thought you were my- Well, I thought you were my girlfriend."
You started laughing. A relieved, but genuine laugh that made you want to run off into the distance skipping. He looked at you with a concerned look, but you turned to him with such a big smile that you could see the panic melt off of him. "Of course I'm your girlfriend!" you said as you laughed.
He started laughing too. It was a confused one but became more light as the moments passed.
You stopped and turned your body to hug him. His arms wrapped around you in the way that the always did and you felt yourself feel calm there. "I don't know what I would do without you."
"You would be too hard on yourself," he said casually. "You do that even with me here yelling at you."
You slapped his back where your hand was already placed. "Says you."
"I know," he said. "Says me."
The two of you finally made your way back to your hotel room where you promptly kicked off your shoes and launched yourself onto your bed. He stood awkwardly for a second before you reached your hand out to grab his and pulled him forward. He landed on the bed on his knees with a laugh.
You pulled him forward again to lay down next to you and his head fell on the pillow directly next to you. He looked a little bit panicked in his own awkward and always-freaking-out way.
What his lips felt like on yours back on that balcony suddenly came rushing back to you along with the realization that you were laying next to him in a bed all alone. Your face blushed subconsciously, but that's when he reached out and grabbed your face to pull you forward.
