Emily's POV
Franklin was finishing up with his senior year and JJ was a mess. She cried at almost every event.

She was trying to get him to help plan his grad party but it didn't work. Honestly we just left JJ and Penelope to plan it.

She was looking at food options when Lizzie called. "Liz it's like midnight. What do you need?" Is all I heard.

JJ's face got red and it meant she was pissed. She got up, put on a sweatshirt and sweatpants and hung up.

"She's drunk and I'm picking her ass up." She whispered. "Um. Do her parents know?"

"I don't know but if you don't see her tonight, I murdered her." She said before leaving.

JJ's POV
When I got to the address she was sitting on the front step. She didn't say anything when she got in.

I stopped on the side of the road and looked at her. I tried to not yell or get too mad at her. You know, teach out of love.

"What the actual fuck is going through your head? You are 17 fucking years old and you are drunk off your ass. You are lucky I'm giving you a chance to talk before I kill you."

"I didn't mean to. I wasn't planning on getting drunk." She whispered. "Elizabeth Jay Reid, you better explain before I call your mom."

"I was going to be designated driver. I was drinking sparkling water but I had a can cozie. My friend was grabbing me Trulys and I didn't realize until it was too late."

"Honest?" I asked. "Deadly." She sighed putting her head in her hands. "I was supposed to be the sober cab and I messed up. It was stupid and I'm sorry."

"It's fine. As long as you know when to call for help I won't be mad. You are stupid but not irresponsible."

I started the car and we stopped at the Burger King drive thru. "You need to eat something, it'll make tomorrow better." She got a whopper and I brought her to my house.

Emily opened the door and I shook my head. She took the clue and didn't say anything. She went right to bed and I filled Emily in.

"I mean at least she isn't dumb. I mean at that age I was already pregnant."

"Emily!" I said hitting her arm. "What? It isn't a lie." I rolled my eyes and went to check on Lizzie.

I opened the door and she was crying into her knees. "Kid it's ok. We all make mistakes."

"Yeah but it feels like every mistake I make just makes me worse. Like I once slid into a snow bank and my mom was mad at me for a week. And it wasn't even my fault."

"Hey when I was a kid I once punched a kid because he talked shit about my sister and my mom grounded me for a month."

"Yeah but now I'm going to be the disappointment of the family and I'm an only child. Like everyone in my family is perfect and then there's me. Pen, Derek, Dave, Hotch, you and Emily are perfect."

I just sighed. "I mean like I was literally named after you. Elizabeth Jay. How the hell can I measure up to that?"

"We can finish this in the morning. It's a sober conversation. I love you and good night." I said. I let her go to bed and joined Emily.
