10. Barricade

“okay, just a sec.” he says and he leaves the room.

A moment later they are all in the room Danny and Ciara are seated on the bed, Curtis and zac are seated on the couch while Sam is hoisting herself on the arm of the couch, Alec is leaning on the wall with his hands around his chest and his head is leaning on the wall, he is looking at the ceiling and I watch as his Adam's apple keep moving everytime he swallows next to Jake who is leaning on the door with his hands in his jeans pocket.

Danny reaches for my hand and I let her. “wanna tell us what is happening?”

“yeah.” I say glancing at Alec who nodes gesturing for me to go ahead.

“Everything is going to be okay darling.” kassie who is sitted on the chair next to the bed assures me gently caressing her baby bump.

“Jasmine has these goon friends who happen to be the most wanted criminals in USA, she has been working with them since I was a kid.They used to have their meetings at our house because she was the second adviser of the general.” I pause for a moment. “so one day on their meetings I was at home but she thought I had gone to school. when their general saw me he appeared interested and told her to let me join the crew and she never refused, she was always after pleasing him and she never cared about what I wanted....”

“Oh my God, you are a part of them.!” kassie cuts me midsentence.

“just let her finish.” that is Alec and I glance at him before I continue.

“after a couple of days, he introduced me to his son who has been studying in China but also trained to become a goon and take over his father's position in future, his name is Damian. but he is mercilessly brutal just like his father and when I say brutal I mean he has massacred alot of innocent souls. He wanted to marry me so that he could do whatever he wanted with me, and when I ran away during the weeding day his father is pissed beyond measure for standing his son and I know they won't stop until they find me and melt my skin for it, I never wanted to include you in this because they will kill whoever stands in their way.” I say trying to keep my tears at bay.

“so what now?” ciara asks in a near whisper but loud enough for everyone to hear.

“Just let me handle this.” I voice and they all glare at me like I'm missing the whole point.

“Are you out of your fucking mind?!” Curtis talks for the first time since he got here and I turn to look at him.

“Maybe I am but not crazy enough to get my friends into my troubles.” I'm a little trembling and Danny squeezes my hand reassuringly. “You don't know what you're dealing with. Damian is the most cruel man on earth, he has ice in his veins in place of blood.”

“Then let us help you defeat this son of a bitch.” Zac is being really persuasive.

“Zac is right Gabby,” that is Jake and his voice is so calm, I don't know how people manage to be calm in such situations. “Nobody is strong enough to win without help. let us help you.”
I whince a little when I shift “Hey careful.” Danny suddenly says.

“What? so now I can't shift to a comfortable position?” I roll my eyes and they laugh.

“you have a stubborn on there, Danny. Good luck with that.” Sam smirks.

“so what do we do?” I ask since they have insisted on helping a lot, they might have a plan.

“we will have to talk to mom and Curtis's dad,” Jake says. “they'll have to pull some strings.

it's 2 past midnight and Danny is sleeping heavily on the couch. Everybody is gone and she refused to leave despite Jake convincing him to let him stay instead.
