I don't remember specifically turning onto the road, or even into the drive, but I found my way to John's grave. As I sat there beside his headstone, I bawled. I knew there was no point in crying, but I did anyway. I had to, because that was all the movement my body would allow.

Many hours later, I woke up from another death, but this time it was from dehydration.

That's a new one I thought to myself.

I stood up. The lights were back on.

The lights are back on. Ha, such a simple sentence for burning the battery power out of Cardiff.

I focused my attention back onto my situation at hand, only to find possibly the weirdest and creepiest text I ever would on my mobile. It read:

[Ianto]: Did you see that dead guy on the floor behind you that you brought with you when you came back from your experimental trip lol?

Lol? How is that /funny/? How is that /anything/ but dead serious(pun not intended)? Seriously, there is nothing funny about me killing a man just for a, not to mention failed, chance at reaching my Doctor.

'My Doctor'

That's what I had used to call him in my head and when I wasn't near him, but, after 17 years of missing him, I wasn't so sure if he was still mine to call. Sure, he may not have regenerated within that time. I mean, that is a pretty short time span for a Timelord. But what if he had gotten a new, younger, prettier companion. I mean, I was 38, and considering all the companions he'd had before, I don't think he likes old trash sitting around in The TARDIS......

Rereading Ianto's text brought me back to reality, and I was angry at how he was acting. There was nothing funny about a death that I had caused. I sprang to my feet and got into my car.

This was not a matter to simply be texting about, and I knew there was no point in just sitting there for the rest of the day[the day after she was at Torchwood]. So I went back to the Torchwood Institute, which had been founded oh-so-many years ago by King Victor. That was something I never got over - how much different this world is from my home world.

Well, if I ever get to live out my only wish, I'll see that home world again soon, and the Doctor with it.

As I pulled into Torchwood's parking lot, I saw someone who I never thought I would ever see again.

It was Jack.

"What have we got left?" Martha asked from across the platform.

"Well we've done a couple things and gotten a lizard back to a princess so Martha..... I think two things, yeah?"

"Right, okay, so how long's it been?"

"Humans, so obsessed with time," The Doctor failed at muttering. "Coming up on 32 hours, but you do know that we are /literally/ standing in a time machine, right? Time is w-"

"Wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey, yeah I know," Martha finished with The Doctor.

"But don't you think that's quite a time for a human to go without sleep, Doctor? I'm tired and I need to sleep before I mess something up big time."

"We, are part of /events/. We can't just leave and take time to sleep with the pterodactyls. Unless, of course, you want Katniss to go without these... I mean, you did want to make sure she lives through the first day. And I don't think that's going to happen when alien monkeys steal her bow and arrows."

A bit of stubborn silence passed.

"Alright. So, Panem now, yeah?"

"Up to you. That or back to London. Though I think I can handle the birds myself and let you rest when I do."

"Panem it is."
