And another original au!

I feel like some angsty Carter would be 👌.

And now... First... The au explanation: It's basically twisted wonderland, BUT the ghosts are impossible to be seen or interacted with except on Halloween. Only a few persons were able to see them every day and it's rumored that those persons keep bringing with them bad luck. It doesn't matter how powerful you are or what type of magic being are you. It's completely random and rare. The few that are known to have this trait are outcasted in fear of bringing ruin for the others.

And now... The plot: Carter always had this bad luck streak because of his ghost seeing talent. Whenever something good happened to him, the price would have been twice as bad for an outcome.(Nagito Komaeda who?) He thought NRC could turn tables, but up until now... He only relies on his magicam to just convince himself that's better like this. He did have some interesting ghost conversations from time to time. Meanwhile, Vil had a deep dark secret that under no circumstances anyone can know. Not even Rook or Jack are aware of this. And he very much appreciates it that way. What if on a fateful encounter, Carter realises that maybe he isn't alone. And bad luck for the bad luck sure gets something good.

And now... On with the ghosts!

Title: Ghostly encounters

No one pov:

Carter groaned. Another unslept night for him. It wasn't new for him to just stay at the balcony and look outside until Riddle or someone else that sucks for rules decides to screech at him to go back to sleep.

It was a few days since the auditions for VDC was over and Carter did not like the outcome really much. Regardless, he should be happy for his underclassmen for entering.

"You seem troubled, child..."

Carter smiled weakly, looking at the transparent figure that was floating in front of him. It was a woman with baroque puffy dress and beautiful white flowing hair put in an simple up bun decorated with pearls and other accessories.

It was his best friend, Camelia, the waltzing ghost. Camelia was a happiness bringer. She loved to waltz and often Carter saw her pursuing other ghosts to waltz with her on music.

"Just feeling blue, Camelia... That's all..." The boy responded. "It's unfortunate... Day by day you always are feeling blue! Child! This is not a masquerade! You can't just smile and tell everything will be okay." the ghost nagged. Carter smiled a bit more.

"That's it! That's the smile I want to see! One of an amazing dancer who can waltz with an elegance that makes any princess swoo over them!" The ghost beamed, imitating a dance around the third year.

"Camelia! You damn hag! Let the boy scowl!" Another voice said. Carter had to turn and yelp a bit when he saw a head jumping towards them. It was Admiral Seville, an ex-captain with a mouth just as big as his smugness.

"You lost your body again?" Carter mused. "Of course I did! That hag spun it somewhere in the rose maze!" the head screeched angry. The 3rd year exhaled and grabbed the said head. The ghosts always made him go to bed and so, Carter decided to actually force himself to sleep instead of hearing the ghosts nag him endlessly.

The next day, Carter could see clear as day his own dormhead and a ghost tailing after him. The said ghost was nothing like the others. This ghost had a red aura around it and was only tailing after Riddle like it was bound to the redhead. It was the ghost of one of the great seven:The mighty Queen of Hearts.

Carter did interact a lot of times with the ghost of the Queen of hearts. It was no new thing about it. He knew the Queen just like an old friend, henche why Carter knew how to slip up from some rules. But laughing at Riddle's red face did get Carter a smack behind the head from the said ghost of one of the great seven.
