The first thing that planted the seed of inspiration to write this book happened to be the song, "I Was Made For Loving You" by Tori Kelly ft. Ed Sheeran. The lyrics spoke out a story of complete strangers falling in love. I knew I just had to write a story on it!
Then, I reread the book Anon. It's a Miraculous Ladybug fanfic here on Wattpad and is written by evertea (Go check him/her out! They write such beautiful and well-written stories!). The character's messaging each other with only one side knowing made me want to try writing something similar but with a different touch.
Then, I happen to stroll through a public library and saw this book displayed.

The cover gave me the idea of messaging with a jar, pencil, and paper. Thus, the start of Dear Bugaboo was born!
Everything else in this book, I kinda winged it and added ideas I wanted to see later on in my notes. Throughout the book, there were many changes and additions.
Changes throughout the book:
1. Lila
At the beginning, Lila was actually supposed to be pregnant! (Yeah, mind blowing, isn't it? Lol!) It was going to be revealed within the chapter, Storm {3}, that the father and her boyfriend was supposed to be Luka!
Why I changed my mind: I didn't want to make Luka evil, nor could I see him being with Lila. It would be better for Lila to embrace her lying trait like her character was created to do. Plus, Luka is too good of a guy to be with a manipulative witch and Lila as a mother...yeah, moving on.
2. Marinette and Adrien's Meetings
The times Marinette and Adrien met by "fate" in the chapters Flour Incident and A Dollar before the big reveal wasn't suppose to happen. Their first time actually meeting was suppose to be at the dance.
Why I changed my mind: I honestly don't know. I just kinda added it to the story. Fate is a funny thing, I guess. It decided to change my story. Lol!
3. August 4, 2010
In the chapter, The Lair, this date was supposed to be Emilie's real death date.
Why I changed my mind: I added the safe in but had no clue at the time what was going to be inside until coming up with something later on. What was supposed to be a death date turned into the supposed birth date of Izzy Agreste.
4. Marianne and Fu
Marianne wasn't going to be in the book. Fu wasn't supposed to work at a costume store but only chaperone the school dance.
