Third Person POV
Finishing up the last bit of her chores in the throne room Lucy sighed in relief. She wiped the small amount of sweat that built up on her forehead. It had been quite a long day. She had woke. Up early to do her chores today to make sure she didn't oversleep and upset Natsu. It was around three when she was almost finished, and then the ditzy demon had went around dripping crumbs everywhere! At first she found only a small patch and swept it up quite quickly. However, the more she swept, the more she found and the more irritated she got. For goodness sakes the man eats so much how can he always be hungry?! Just thinking about it caused her irritation.
She sighed and looked towards the door that was just to the right of the throne that sat in front of her. Her eyes moved towards the window she first tried to escape out of. That was stupid and reckless. Why did she think she could escape with him sitting right there? She shook her head at her own idiocy. She'd do better next time.
"Luce~" she heard Natsu say from behind her. She jumped a little and spun around on her heel to face him. "You better not be thinking about escaping again." Her heart jumped and she furrowed her brows. However, he placed his hand on his belly and threw his head back laughing. She realized he must have been joking, but she wasn't.
She gave a small chuckle. "O-of course not. I was just finishing up my chores!" She offered a closed eye smile while scratching the back of her neck.
"I was just kidding Luce! But the place looks great! The floors are so shiny!" His eyes lit up as he bent down to swipe his hand across the tile floor. She giggled at this action. He seemed like such a child at heart. It was only times like this that she forgot he could be a vicious demon.
She knew he wanted to be friends but it was hard to see him as one seeing as he kidnapped her. For goodness sake her body unconsciously tenses when he's around it's always ready to go into fight or flight mode; and let's be honest flight is her only option. Even then she definitely isn't outrunning him.
"Anyways, I was wondering if you wanted to come outside with me and paint a picture? The view right now is really pretty and I think it'd be nice to sit outside and paint while facing it." The demon almost seemed as if he was twiddling his thumbs asking her. Like he was nervous she was going to say no. She was surprised when he asked, but nonetheless wasn't going to turn down the opportunity.
She tilted her head and smiled slightly. "Of course!" she said enthusiastically. Regardless of the fact that she was about to go painting with the demon that kidnapped her, she was excited to take a break from her chores and do something a little bit more relaxing. "Let me just put the broom away I'll be right back." With that she swiftly turned on her heel and headed towards the broom closet.
She had to admit, her heart was beating quite fast, considering what happened last time they hung out like this. Although she knows it wasn't his intentions to hurt her, it still scared her enough to not want to be around him for awhile.
She quickly made her way to the broom closet and stashed the broom inside. Shuffling her way back she found the demon waiting patiently with a smile on his face and his tail wagging behind him. He looked almost like a puppy. She giggled at the thought. "Ok I'm ready to go when you are!" She exclaimed with a smile.
"Great! Let's go then!" He replied excitedly. With that they were on their way towards the back of the castle where they would enjoy their time painting and admiring the view.

"Luce check it out!" Natsu exclaimed suddenly.
"What is it?" She asked turning towards him. Only to gawk at the sight in front of her when she spotted a tree entirely covered with monarch butterflies. To say she was amazed was the least. "Woah..." She trailed, stopping in her tracks.
"Beautiful isn't it." Natsu stated. She nodded her head and he held a smile on his face. "I used to come out here when I was a kid all the time during the summer. There used to be tons of trees filled with them. It slowly became less and less, and I'm not really sure why. But every once in a while when I come out here I see one and it always makes my day." She turned her head slightly to look at him. This was her first time seeing him so sentimental and to be totally honest, it was kinda weird. She didn't mind though. It made her more comfortable being around him.
"I'm sorry that you had to watch them disappear. But it sounds like you had a great childhood." He cringed at that sentence she noticed, but immediately turned and smiled towards her.
"Yeah it was pretty great! Come on let's go paint now!" He yelled excitedly. He started laughing and running towards the lake and she giggled, following after.
When they arrived he set up the easels and canvases that they he had grabbed previously and brought outside. He did this before asking her, mostly because he was going to do it whether she wanted to or not. But he was also pretty confident that she would say yes. She had been doing chores all day and he wanted her to have some fun and relax. Hopefully this won't end like last time.
As they painted Natsu and Lucy sat in silence, with only the sound of the wind and their brush strokes across the canvases able to be heard. The atmosphere was calm and serene and both of them quite enjoyed the warm breeze across their skin. Lucy had decided to paint the view in front of them so she could hang it in her room. She doesn't often get to come outside, so at least this way it would be kind of like a window.
"What are you painting Luce?" Natsu asked as he dipped his paintbrush in some black paint.
"I'm painting the lake. And the trees behind it. It's beautiful." She responded as she softly brushed blue over the rough surface.
"Ohh that's a good idea. I can't wait to see it!" Natsu said with a huge smile. She giggled at his excited response and continued to paint her canvas.
After about an hour, the two were finished and had exchanged comments they had on each others paintings. All positive of course.
"This was fun. Thank you, Natsu. I'm really happy we did this."
Natsu gave a laugh and leaned back on his palms. "Of course! I am too. This was really fun. We gotta do it more often."
Lucy leaned forward on her bent knees and nodded with a small hum. She wanted to enjoy and admire the time she had out here right now. She wished she had the freedom to do this all the time, instead of cleaning and cooking the entire day.
She closed her eyes and felt the afternoon sun on her face. The warmth provided her comfort and she embraced every second of it. She began to get lost in her thoughts. She missed home. She missed her friends, heck even at this point she was beginning to miss her dad. Being here was so much torture; because even though she wasn't getting abused, she was kept from the things most important to her.
Her eyes began to water and she sniffled a little bit. She hoped to Mavis that Natsu had passed out or tuned her out. He would probably lose it if he saw her crying. She remembered what happened last time, and she definitely didn't want to be yelled at like that again.
She wiped her eyes and sighed, trying to embrace the peace again.
"What's wrong?" Natsu suddenly asked. Lucy looked up and then looked at him.
"Hm? Nothings wrong. I'm just...reminiscing." She responded nervously, but with a smile. Then she turned and admired the view once more. He didn't get mad? She thought to herself. Her body was still slightly shaky, and she didn't doubt that he could sense she was a little afraid. She thought for sure he would get upset if he thought she was crying.
She knew she had to escape. She couldn't live like this anymore. She just needed a plan. She would have to make it almost full proof for it to work. She knew she could do it though, she just needed a little bit of patience.
Ahem...I apologize...again. I know it's been taking me a long time to update but my writers block has been so bad lately, and I'm so busy since being at college. This story will not stop though! I'm really going to try and be more on top of updating content. I hope you continue to read!
