How come most countries are male? What's with the females either being BaDdIeS, UwU SoFtIeS, wh#res who are antagonists, or five-year-olds? Why are they all cis? What about the trans, Non-binary pals, gender fluids, and more? There should be a diversity of gender identities and the females are not all those stereotypes listed above.
But I have a theory on why there are a few females and nobody in between the binary. How about you take a guess. Huh, give up?
It is because of the demand for gay ships and Yaoi. The fetishization and stereotyping of the LGBTQ+ community that young teens and tweens alike crave for. The UwU softie bottoms and edgy bad boi tops that we see in gacha mini-movies from 2018(I am part of the gacha community, don't go all gacha is bad). The readers will sequel their butts off seeing a gay couple, err, doing it? (I am uncomfy with the topic) And the females are antagonists trying to get the gay top to love her all for plot convenience. But hey that's just a theory, a Fanfic theory! And the end of this long rant.
