"Luke, you can't just come into my house and say that to me."

It hurts me more to know he regrets it all, than it probably hurts him. If my heart were in control of this situation, I'd kiss him. God, I wonder if his mouth still tastes the same. But right now, my mind is in power. And I know that we were and what we had is all in the past now, lying under all that rubble that we had stood stable on when we were together.

"Aleisha, I know...but..." He waivers his words and his blue eyes are even softer when he steps back.

"I...I don't know what to say. I can't think clearly right now. I mean, you come knocking on my door and expect me to say something after you told me this." I would have preferred if he had waited a while more.

"It's been difficult on me too, Alli. I had to leave you behind. I had to leave all we had behind because I thought it would be best for both of us. I would tell my friends how I'd return and be with the only girl I loved again, even if she dreaded the thought of being with me again."

I cross my arms and rest them on my chest.

"You know, love is a strong word, Luke."

They asked him and his band if they have ever been in love before, Ashton was the only one to admit it since he and Skylar had dated before then. Luke debated his answer and ultimately said no.

"But I do love you!" His voice is thick and my lips trembles.

"Please don't make this any more difficult. If you were willing to get me back, at least put the past in the past." Because if we don't, I'll just fear the same outcome.

"Alli-"

"Maybe you should go. My mom's in the next room and she'll probably appear anytime soon. We know how long that would take." I try to lighten the mood, but it doesn't work and Luke nods his head.

"Okay. See you...." He clears his throat. "Around then?"

"Okay." I sigh and the pain appears when the clicking of the door to it's hinges appear and so do the thoughts of him holding me in his arms.
