"It sounds amazing!" Hillary praises as she takes off her headphones. I look at her and force a smile on my face. I cannot think about anything but him.
It's crazy how one look into his sea-like eyes can get me so pensive in so little time.
I was never like this. A cute boy with a cute smile never made me so....how can I say it? Never made me so insane.
"Hillary, can I tell you something?" I take a seat on her bed, crossing my arms over my chest.
Her eyes quickly meet mine and she nods her head.
"Sure, what is it?"
I sigh and look out the window.
"Luke came over to my house yesterday." I respond and can hear her faint gasp.
"Luke?" She asks. "Luke Hemmings? As in the douchebag who left you and wrote a song about you?"
I look at her and I can feel my throat closing up just hearing his name. I hate him, but I love him even more than that. He's always had this effect on me, even when we were dating.
Luke to me was my inspiration, I admired his confidence, his dedication. His bravery.
And why wouldn't it, look how happy he is on stage now. But I'm not even remotely close to being happy.
Yes, I've got some things going for me here in Australia, but what's fame and fortune if I cannot have him by my side.
"What did he want?" Hillary asks, leaning in closer as if it's a secret between both of us. Which it kind of is.
"It's nothing, really. He stopped by to say hey." I lie. I know Hillary is a good friend of mine, but Luke shouldn't be brought down by a few words he said in the moment.
He doesn't love me.
He cannot love me.
He left me so therefore his love has dissappeared.
"Do you still love him?"
I look at Hillary and smile. My teary eyes and wide smile do not match, and can only be a sign of what he's done to me.
"I can't help it."
