"that's great! you're finally getting your boring love life somewhere!" eunha smiled at renjun

of course, she was let down. but as his best friend, the least she could do was hype him up so her crush on him wouldn't show.

"her name's lee minsu" renjun smiled at the thoughts of the girl
"lee minsu? i think we were paired up for a botany project" jaemin furrowed his eyebrows, "she's really quite and reserved."

"and she's also really cute" renjun smiled at the table
"simp" donghyuck called out
"how'd you meet?" mark waved off haechan and turned to the red boy
"she came to the art room because one of her friends is an art major and uh i was the only one there. I guess we kind of started talking and.. yeah"

"are you gonna ask her out?" chenle asked and renjun shrugged, "I'm not sure if it's the right time"
"damn.. we promised we'd stay single forever together" eunha said and pouted making the boys chuckle
"too bad, find yourself someone then" renjun said

the girl just shook her head and the rest continued with their lunch as she stared off into space. her mind was a like a zoo with it's animals let loose. this was definitely not the time for her insecurities to come and say hi and stay for a cup of tea.
she sighed it off and stood up from the table
"i think my lady problem started, I'm gonna go to the restrooms" she said and quickly dismissed herself from the table before any of the boys could say anything

"damn, I'm glad we don't bleed from our.. thing" haechan said, earning a hit on the arm from mark who sat beside him
"what? it's true! imagine being conscious in public about a bleeding dick every month. seriously all respect to girls"

"you're disgusting" jeno grimaced, "we're trying to eat here"
"it's not biologically possible for a man to get periods, though. that's the reason why male pregnancy isn't possible-"
"shut up, jaemin."
"right, i forgot this was lunch"

while the boys debated about.. whatever that was, eunha was splashing her face with water countless times in the ladies restroom.

'it's okay.. just breathe'
'if he doesn't like you back move on'
'what was i thinking falling for him in the first place?'
'why did i get my hopes up?'
'of course, we're just friends. nothing more'
'i just hope he doesn't ask her out and they get together- heck I'm just wishing for his sadness now..'
'am i a bad friend?'

"miss girl, you okay?" a voice snapped eunha out of her thoughts
"huh?"
"you've been washing your face like crazy and now you're just.. staring at your face in the mirror" the girl behind her said and pointed to the mirror

"if something's wrong, you can trust me. i don't gossip, i promise" said the girl, making eunha lightly chuckle and shake her head
"it's okay.. just on my period. you know how mother nature hates us girls" she lied- well not technically, she was on her period

"tell me about it. i become a literal vampire during that time of month" the other girl huffed but then smiled, "my name's baek haein and I'm a chem major, you?"
"kim eunha, astronomy major"
"i can tell we'll be good friends, let's spend the rest of lunch together?"

eunha was about to decline the offer but remembered that she'd feel awkward back at the table with the boys so she shrugged

"if you're fine with my rants about constellations, then okay"

"okay but I'm just saying, chemistry is useless"
"so is physics"

"you dared to, too!"

the girls stared at each other before bursting out into fits of laughter

"seriously, haein. how come you didn't have friends before? you're so cool!" eunha said and smiled
"i do have friends.. they just leave me out, you know?"
"those aren't friends, though. those types of people are parasites."
"oh so now we're talking biology?"
"biology is the most useless science"
"agreed"

the girls were at eunha's home, getting to know each other better. the two got close in no time and it was enough to make eunha forget about renjun. they stayed together for the rest of the day, and even walked home together and found out they lived not so far from each other.

"anygays, you tell me about mr.huang renjun and you" haein said, wiggling her eyebrows
"what do you mean?"
"dude, you literally have a selfie of the two of you as your wallpaper. and besides I've seen you two together sometimes at college"

eunha sighed and shrugged, "i don't know.. we just became friends when we were 10 and yeah.. we're just best friends"
"you sound disappointed- don't tell me.."

she sighed and confirmed haein's suspicions.
"girl, you've known each other forever! you were there during cringey teen days! confess!"
"he likes someone else"
"okay, don't confess"

eunha shook her head, "i don't wanna think about him. i should move on-"
"move on, my ass. if they aren't together yet then you shouldn't give up."
"how do I make him like me, though? he knows me like the poem dino abc's"
"damn my little sister is obsessed with that poem"

eunha sighed and pouted, leaning back on her bed. haein crawled up to her and threw her arms around the girl in a hug

"i think you should make him realize your worth"
"how?"
"boys get jealous, right?"
"i don't know"
"they do, eun. really easily. spend as much time as you can far away from him. he realizes you're not paying attention to him then bang! he tries to get your attention"
"how are you so sure this will work?"
"oh I'm not sure. i just trust in the power of the cliché cringey teen movies"
