2nd last chapter 💃💃💃💃

------

There is something weird today. Since morning I can't shake off this feeling that something is wrong. And my neighbour's closed doors and windows are making it more weird.

Maybe I'm feeling this because I didn't sleep a wink last night. You know when you stay awake for a whole night doing something, mostly using phone, And then suddenly the sun arrives so you decide not to sleep at all.

That's how I had the whole morning to notice that my neighbour is missing today. He didn't throw his garbage out. He didn't water the plants. He didn't exercise AKA show off his body. His doors and windows are closed. His laundry from yesterday is still outside.

Now before you say I'm overthinking, I know there's a possibility of him not being at home but his car is here. This area is a little far from the town so we have to use our cars to travel and if his car is here he has to be inside as well. It was at 2 PM when I finally couldn't hold my curiosity in and went to my neighbour's house.

So here I am, standing in front of his door, waiting patiently for him to open the door after I pressed the bell 10 minutes ago. I waited another 5 minutes and there's still no reply.

I had enough of waiting. I punched the code into the digital lock device. Rich people. In my parent's house, in the name of house security, we have this big lock and the whereabouts of it's key is still unknown to us.

When I entered the house I felt like I entered a haunted house. The temperature was low given the fact that October just started. The house was almost dark. Other than the sound made by my slippers, it was pin drop silence.

" Parnit, are you home? " I shout to the empty living room. I even checked behind the couch. There's no sign of my neighbour.

" Pranit, are you here?" I shout as I enter the kitchen. I went around the kitchen and saw fruits on the counter. Dirty dishes in the sink but no Pranit. I opened his fridge and found no trace of Pranit, just a chocolate bar seducing me into eating it.

" You're here? " I looked inside the bathroom but there is still no sign of a living being. I held the chocolate bar between my teeth and opened the curtains and found an empty bathtub.

I think my neighbour is kidnapped!

Uhh who am I kidding? With biceps like that, who would dare to kidnap him?

I was considering of ending my search mission and walking back to my house with the now almost finished chocolate when I heard a sound coming from upstairs. From his room.

How did I forget about his room? Maybe because I have dropped the idea of finding his real identity that's why I don't have any curiosity for checking his room.

I ran upstairs as quietly as possible. Putting my ears on the door, I listen carefully. Nothing. So I decided to open the door. What I saw inside was exactly what I thought I would see. I saw darkness.

When I turned on the lights I saw something beyond my imagination. My neighbour was laying on his bed. Which is not weird. What's weird is that his room was a big mess. There was no room to stand. Clothes were scattered everywhere be it the bed, couch or the floor. You cannot tell which clothes should go to the laundry and which should go inside the black almirah standing on the side of the room.

I tiped-toed towards his bed. The man lying on the bed was still deep asleep. His whole body was sweating. His hair was sticking to his forehead and neck. My doubt came true when I put my hand over his cheeks.

My neighbour is hot.

I mean he has a fever.

I'm not a doctor so I don't exactly know what to do except the basic that my mother used to do when I or my brother fell sick.
