Cordelia

My feet took me hurriedly back to the common room. Once I'd made it I scanned the room for anyone. That's when I noticed the familiar head of blinding blonde hair sat on one of the sofas, a book in his hands. He looked up, noticing my arrival. His eyes soon softened when he saw the state I was in. My eyes red and glossy, my cheeks wet with previous tears.

"Delia?" He asked gently, shutting his book and putting it on the table in front of him. My lip started to tremble and I couldn't hold it anymore. The tears that I tried so hard to keep back escaped down my cheeks. He rushed out of his seat, running towards me and wrapped me in his arms. I didn't want it to be him, but it was. I hugged him back and sobbed into his shoulder. He stroked the back of my head soothingly, "hey, it's okay. You're okay".

I shook my head, drawing back from him. "No, I'm not okay. Nothing's okay." I bit my lip, forcing the sob I was about to let out fall back down into the pit of my stomach.

"Do you want to talk about it?" His voice was unsure and nervous.

I looked at him, my vision blurred. I shook my head gently. "Not really" I said quietly.

"That's fine" he said calmly, "I think Lex is in your room if you do need someone to talk to". He put up a weak smile and began to walk away.

"Hey Draco" I called him back. "Thank you" I pulled him in for another hug.

"You're welcome Delia". I gave him a small smile before anymore tears slipped and made my way up the stairs.

I opened the door slowly, peering inside to see Lexi on her bed doing some homework.
"Hey, there she is! I was worried" she laughed lightly but her smile vanished once spotting the tears that were streaming down my face."Oh my love, what happened?" She asked, putting her homework away and getting up to give me a hug.

I made my way over to my bed, sitting against the headboard with Lexi next to me. She wrapped an arm around my shoulder, bringing me into her. I rested my head on her shoulder and sobbed. We stayed like this for a minute or two until I finally mustered up the right words.

"M-Mattheo" I started "he was acting so different tonight"

"How so?" She asked concerned.

"Well, he was lashing out at Slughorn and Harry." I sniffled as Lexi stroked my hair, "and then he proceeded to beat the shit out of Cormac. I mean if I'm being honest, Mattheo did save me". For some reason that made me even more sad.

"What do you mean he saved you?" Lexi asked worriedly.

"Cormac was trying to hit on me again and I told him no," I took a breath. "And then he grabbed me by the neck and started to choke me".
