Aftermath: Splatfest Finals

(\\// Inkopolis Plaza: Squid Sisters Home \\//)

Sonic, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, and Callie were relaxing from after their encounter with Eggman and Octavio.

"I'm sure glad you guys saved me." Callie said.

"It's what we do back on Mobius." Sonic said.

"Oh, yeah. How was Eggman able to get his hands on you?" Knuckles asked.

"Well... it's a bit of a long story." Callie responded.

(Callie's explanation, her POV)

As I was finished with production of another show for the night, I needed to get away from the crowd of fans before it too crowded. When I finally snuck away from the crowd, I was so relieved. But the next thing I know is when I got kidnapped by Scourge and his Octostrikers. Then of course, I got taken to Octavio's lair and he and the Doctor remixed my brain.

(End of explaination, and Callie's POV)

"And that's what happened." Callie said.

"Those Octostrikers are nothing but trouble." Tails said.

"Well, at least they're not gonna fight us for a while." Amy said.

"Yup. But what happened to me during that battle when I raged?" Knuckles asked. "It was like a new form."

"I think it's Inkferno." Callie responded. "It sometimes happens when you're angry, when your anger reacts with the Zap-Orbs, you end up entering that form."

"Guess that makes sense." Sonic said. "Kinda like my dark form."

"And he's lucky he hasn't gone dark in a while." Amy said, as she pet his tentacle quills.

"Oh, yeah. What's Marie been up to after that battle?" Tails said.

(\\// Octo Canyon: Tentakeel Outpost \\//)

Marie was keeping watch of her outpost, and an eye on Octavio since she didn't want him causing havoc again. Agent 4 made it back to Octo Canyon as she met back up with Marie.

"Mmm..." Marie said as she faced Agent 4. "Ahh, Agent 4... I've been waiting for you. Thanks to you and the other Agents, both the Great Zapfish and Callie are back, and peace has been returned to Inkopolis."

"It was an honor to help." Agent 4 said.

"That being said, everyone is grateful for us. But we are gonna have to try and lay low. Since the Doctor almost blew our cover." Marie continued. "Well, it's like they always say: 'The path of the hero is a lonely one'."

"Sort of. But not anymore thanks to Agent S' enemy." Agent 4 said referring to Eggman. "No one says that anyway."

"Wait... they don't say that?! But 'they' say all sorts of things!" Marie said. "Well... Whatever. I was able to confine DJ Octavio in this snow globe. I'm keeping an eye on him to make sure he stays out of trouble."

"That's smart thinking." Agent 4 said.

"I'm gonna slow roast him until Grandpa- I mean... Uh... Until the leader of the New Squidbeak Splatoon comes back." Marie said.

"LET ME OUTTA HERE!!! I'M STARVING!" Octavio said.

"Bahaha. Love it." Marie said. "Anyway you impressed me. I can't thank you enough."

"No problem." Agent 4 said. "Oh yeah, what's that?"

"Hm? Ah, you're wondering about that? I had Sheldon put that there." Marie responded. "It'll allow you to listen to the latest hit single from me and Callie, 'Fresh Start,' any time you want."

"Oh, cool." Agent 4 said.

"Hope you like it! Stay Fresh!" Marie said as she did her signature pose.

(Back in Inkopolis Square...)

Sonic, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, and Callie made it back to Inkopolis Square as the Splatfest was back again.

"Welcome back Splatfest fans!" Murasaki said.

"So if you remember from last night, the Octostrikers have revealed out to be the ones who stole the Great Zapfish and kidnapped Callie." Ikkan said.

"So they've been disqualified from the competition." Ichiya said. "So in their place, the Splat Squad will face the Squidbeak Splatters in the final round."

The Splat Squad was happy they made it to the final round.

"So for the final round of the Splatfest, it'll be a Turf War with Tower Control." Namida announced. "And the battlefield is Shifty Station!"

"Both teams will have 5 minutes on the battlefield to spread as much of your color of ink and get the tower to your side. The longer you have the tower on your side, the more points you'll receive." Murasaki said.

"Squidbeak Splatters, and Splat Squad." Ichiya said. "To the battlefield."

Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Knuckles went for the tower as the Splat Squad followed them.

*Skip to 2:20 for the battle*

(After the clock ended...)

"Time's up!" Ichiya said.

"Leave the battlefield using the nearest exits and we'll add your scores as soon as we can." Ikkan said as the teams left the battlefield.

(Back in Inkopolis Square...)

"The scores are in." Namida said. "And the Squidbeak Splatters have the lead in the Turf War."

"Alright!" Sonic said as he and his friends cheered.

"But the Splat Squad have the lead in the Tower Control half." Ikkan said.

The Splat Squad shot a celebratory blast in success.

"Time for the final results!" Murasaki said.

"The winners, and champions of this year's Splatfest is..." Ichiya said.

The Splat Squad crossed their fingers hoping they won.

Sonic and the others were waiting patiently for the final result.

"THE SQUIDBEAK SPLATTERS!!!" Ichiya announced. "Congratulations!"

"WE WON!" Knuckles said.

"ALRIGHT!" Sonic said as the Squid Squad handed them the trophy.

The Splat Squad left taking 2nd place, and knowing next year they'll do a lot better.

"I can't believe we won!" Tails said.

"To us, and for saving Inkopolis!" Sonic said.

"YEAH!" Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Knuckles said in unison as they all high fived.

With Sonic's victory in the Splatfest, and Callie rescued, the citizens of Inkopolis are happy things are back to normal. And with Eggman sent back to Mobius, and Octavio locked up, the Great Zapfish is back in the city and peace is restored once more.
