Marie had decided to work more on this Hestia mystery. She'd read that storybook forwards and backwards until her eyes hurt and her hands resisted flipping pages, forming questions as she kept taking notes on the story and both Hestia when she went to visit. Zeus had found out by this point, but he saw her progress and said she could continue her work. Maybe even solve this anomaly.
And the anomaly was about how Rainbow Dash was connected to the "Hestia was getting revenge on Zeus and Hera" plot line. The story offered zero dialogue, so that sucked. But it still summed up what some people said, like how Hestia's reasoning for time-cursing (apparently it was a spell to mess with time and move it forward) and other stuff that targeted Rainbow was to protect her from some fate she had in her future. And given how focused the girl had been during the trials, it was safe to say she was clueless as much as Marie was.
Marie sighed as she shut The Goddessy closed and recorded more notes.
Rainbow has some secret destiny
Carnatium and Hestia—what's the link?
What did Hades do?
She also added more questions she's formed between Hestia and the story, along with the recent events, given Apollo had tracked them to not move from a certain spot for a while, and from the heat vision cameras they'd installed around Greece around ten years ago showed Rainbow on the ground, not even trying to fight back, it was clear she had an injury or something.
Why was she hiding for so long?
Why isn't AE moving?
Who is the author of this book?
Marie knew she wasn't gonna get anywhere if she just kept questioning everything. So she stood up, shutting her notebook closed and walking out into the hallways, darting straight to the white door, ready to find out more.
"Egypt or Central America?" Jacob cocked his head in confusion.
"Twilight said they're under a pyramid," Rainbow explained. "But her mind drifted off before she could specify, and I guess I just left her mind after that as well, so yeah."
"Well, we now have a better idea as to where they are," Bastet said. "I'll take Egypt; I know my way around there. Granted, I guess it helps that I live there too."
"But aren't you spending your time over there fighting some snake?" Rainbow pointed out..
"Good point," Bastet said. "I should probably go over to Central America. You two head to Egypt. Maybe try that teleportation thing again."
"But what about you?" Jacob asked.
"I'll find a way," Bastet said, and it was clear she had a plan of her own up her sleeve as she slunk away.
"So..." Jacob tore a hand through his hair. "Do you think you could do it?"
"I'm not sure how I did it," Rainbow said. "I just... I guess I was just thinking of the fastest possible way to--"
A clap of thunder sounded.
"Well, I guess it worked," he said as they fell into the void.
Huh. Maybe she did know how to do it.
"Now what?" he asked.
"Uh, I think I just need to picture Egypt and..." she let her mind fill with images of the pyramids, and in seconds, they were buried under sand. She popped her head out, and after her vision adjusted (after wiping the sand from her eyes), the Great Pyramid was in full view.
