Chapter 1: Visitation

"sorry excuse me!!" , Luz yells as she runs past doctors and patients, trying her best not to bump into anyone. She overhears yelling behind her, but ignores it and continues running forward. She passes rooms 708, 709, and finally, 710, Amity's room. Before she can reach the doorway, she slips and falls onto the cold tile floor, in which Edric and Emira see and help her up. "Are you okay Luz? That looks like it hurt", stated Emira, " you should be more careful, Amity's not going anywhere you know". "I know, it's just I don't want to waste anytime that I have with her", Luz said in a almost disappointed voice. "Well, Amity issss waiting for you, she wouldn't stop talking about you", boasted Edric. Emira whacks Edric on the head with an angry expression."Don't mind him, but you should be getting to her, we'll chat later!" , Emira drags Edric down the hall, both whispering and laughing something inaudible. Luz takes a deep breath before walking into the room. There sits Amity in her bed, with an Azura book in her lap. Luz sits in the guest chair next to Amity's bed that she normally sits in. "I'm so sorry I'm late Amity, Eda wanted me to help her with something involving King and demon fleas, and then Raine showed up and Eda wouldn't leave her room, I got so caught u-", "Don't worry about it, I'm just glad you're here." , Amity states after cutting Luz off. "Thank you for the Azura book, it's really interesting so far, I'm so upset I couldn't go the book fair with you." , Amity says in a slightly upset voice. "It's alright, the crowd was surprisingly small this time around!" ," I didn't have to fight tiny nose for the 10th edition, and you know she's a biter" , Luz says in a terrified voice, to which she shivers. Amity giggles, blushing and then proceeds to cough for a few seconds. Luz looks over with a worried expression, "It's still pretty bad huh?", Luz asks in a mellow voice with her eyes making contact with Amity's."Yeah, but these healing glyphs are supposed to make it so I don't lose consciousness as often, thank titan for that!", "Well I'm glad they're helping, ....OH I almost forgot!", Luz pulls out a fairy pie from her handbag, "I know it's probably not as good as the one you made me, I had to ask Eda to help because the fairies kept eating the ingredients aha". Luz places the fairy pie on the metal platter next to Amity. Amity's eyes widen and her face turns tomato red. "Th-thank you Luz, no ones ever made me a fairy pie before, and by the smell, you did pretty good!", " Yeah right! Don't give me the compliments Blight, that's what I'm here for!" Both Luz and Amity laugh together. "By the way, the doctors said you can lay in my bed again, I won't get you sick, I promise". Luz smiles and walks over to Amity's bed, making sure she doesn't accidentally squish any parts of her body." I haven't had time to read the Azura book since I got it, would you maybe want to read it to me?" Luz asked Amity, into which she agreed." Both layer in the hospital bed, Luz's left hand holding the left side of the book, Amity's right hand holding the right side, and their other hands, holding each other. They read the book together for hours, only being able to get through 3 chapters because of Luz's real life adaption of the characters, but Amity didn't mind, she always loved her Luz's sense of comedy when it came to books. Amity fell asleep on Luz's shoulder, not wanting to wake her up, Luz slowly nudged her head onto Amity's, and they both slept until the sun lowered the day to night. Luz dreamt of her and Amity both walking the streets of the human realm, Luz teaching Amity how to skate, and showing her the best food spots, and introducing her to boba and taking her to the beach. She was then awoken by one of the hospital nurses. " Visiting hours are over sweetie, best you get on home before it's too dark." Luz got up from the bed and walked towards her bag, she walked back to Amity and gave her a kiss on the forehead, "te amo mi lavendula, I'll see you tomorrow, rest well." Luz left the room, not knowing Amity was awake when she did that. Amity became flustered, " I love you too my little nutria."
